Although I am a bit irked that this Sarah girl doesn’t know about her video being posted on TN. That’s the only thing bothering me about this.

Sarah knew the video was going up, she just didn’t know when. We didn’t shoot the video for our own personal pleasure. The girl works hard and is proud of it. Hope this clears it up for you, since I know you obviously been losing sleep over it!
A few months ago a vid was put up in SAMA that was clearly an attempt by the poster to draw attention to his training services. The girl was fit and attractive but I found the video to be distasteful and I thought the girl made a mistake in letting them use her sexiness for the vid rather than just showing her training and development.
These videos of this girl, Sarah, I don’t find distasteful at all. She’s not selling sex appeal, she’s training and showing her development. From my perspective it doesn’t matter to me if I come across the video in SAMA or PW.
I do find it distasteful that this poster, Bryan?, posted it without her knowing. Which he clearly did despite his attempt to backtrack. I also see why the women were put off my the original title, but hey, the only treu douchbag of this thread, Bryan, came up with it.
There is kind of a fine line between what is sexy and what is trashy. The truth is our sexuality is at the core of who we are and to sell weight training to the masses of women out there, we need to appeal to their desires to be sexy. I think DebraD’s sexy pictures were very inspirational and I showed them to a friend so she could see how sexy a woman can be by lifting. I think it’s a shame Deb isn’t posting anymore because she can motivate and inspire people by doing so. Deb, weren’t you inspired by seeing a sexy picture of Jaime Koppe?
Amy Sudds took her RDL videos off of Youtube. I assume she did so because to her they crossed the line between ‘demonstration’ and a gratuitous display of her sexy ass. It’s kind of a shame because that woman has a sexy ass and how the hell could she demo a Romanian Deadlift without showing it? Those videos can inspire women. Amy can show where she was at over 200 pounds and show her RDL videos at over 40 years old and women will be inspired to work hard and eat right.
I will end by reiterating that the only true douchbag is that guy Bryan for his slimy title and for posting without the girl knowing. That girl rocks, btw.
You make a lot of good points Edge, and I feel like the line between athleticism and sex appeal is always going to be a tenuous one, something that we’ve definitely discussed before here in PW (remember the football lingerie thread that got my panties all waded up!) and one that I’m not sure really has any sort of rhyme or reason to it and is only apparent to the female athlete at a certain point in time and relative to their mood, and their training and their appearance…if that makes sense.
Anyways, women in sport and the relationship between muscularity and femininity has always been an interest of mine. And if anyone’s interested, this book came out fairly recently which is a nice historical/pictorial view of women and weight lifting - Venus with Biceps
And its funny you mention the Amy Sudds RDLs - I recently posted a vid on my channel of my attempt at stiff legged DLs (I use youtube to chronicle my lifting in the same way as I do a log). A few days later I sent my dad a link to my channel as he wanted to see my Oly lifting, and i actually was pretty embarrassed about having him see some of my lifts, particularly these “SLDLs”!
More interestingly, however, is that someone sent me an email via youtube specific to this SLDL vid (In the vid comments I state that I have an ACL tear) and the email said, “I love women’s legs! And I love when they’re injured!” lol! So fucking gross bro.

So the definition of a douchbag is someone who used the definition of describing a girl as hot? Gotcha, and she’s always known of the video. Do you really think we just shoot and edit videos for private viewing.
The only true doucbags are those who go onto these forums and talk shit and attack other people because they’re sitting in front of a computer and have no real fucking clue about what’s really going on.
