Here’s something weird that I have happen sometimes when I watch TV…
Let’s say a reporter is going to interview someone and the person starts talking, maybe the first few words come out of the guy’s mouth and I think he’s got an English accent, but before he’s finished the sentence I realize he’s from the southern US.

That British accent that Ben Kingsley spoke in ‘‘Sexy Beast’’ actually hindered me from enjoying it fully,
Americans REALLY had to mentally struggle to try and understand Kingsley in that role…from which part of England was
that atrocious accent from?
haha, if you think that accent is difficult, dont ever go to the Lake District, Yorkshire, some areas of Lancashire, Birmingham and geordie areas.
Poor Americans, no wonder you’re fascinated by us when we speak. Its like watching the Top Gear episode where they encounter hillbilly tyre stations. We can pick out some words and make sure they understand but we wont understand them straight away.
I see your Lancashire and raise you Aberdeenshire. Fife is bad too.
It’s not just a crazy accent, they use a whole other language.
Get out!
Scots are not English.

They’ve been playing catch up since we kicked their ass in the revolutionary war and became the greatest country on earth? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery… Just kidding…well maybe not…

Hey dont worry, our car manufacturers dont imitate yours. We can put up with swedish IKEA made furniture but not IDEA-style cars.
