Considering Self-Prescribing TRT If Doctor Won't Help. Opinions?

@hardartery Well I have inside information the case is not exactly this with him and he really let his doctor to manage his TRT

And I have inside information that the Moon Landing was faked and there was a second shooter that worked for the Clintons. He’s dead, so people can say a lot of things without anyone being able to do a fact check. You are stating something that is at best supposition and almost certainly incorrect. Most likely the product of exaggeration on someone’s part for the purpose of inflating their reputation while casting doubt on the late doctor’s credibility.

@systemlord
So is there any point in checking reverse t3 at this point? Honestly my doc would probably put up a big fuss. I’m not at all educated on thyroid hormones.

If TSH is less than 2.5, then no.

@systemlord I can argue here mate.
My TSH is 1.79 but my reverse T3 came out very elevated

@vonko1988
So you’d say it’s worth checking rt3 even with my other numbers being

TSH: 1.9 mIU/L (.35-4.3)
Free T3 4.59 pmol/L (2.89-4.88)
T4 Free 13.7 pmol/l (9-19)

@markis655 According to defy medical yes

The plot thickens. Had ultrasound today that revealed I have a hernia in my groin on the left side. The same side I have been experiencing testicular pain. I’ve done a bit of research and it looks like repairing groin hernias usually leads to even lower testosterone? Not sure if the hernia is what has caused my low T to begin with or not. Will follow up with what my doc says when I have another appointment. Anyone know anything about this?

Edit: Did some more research and I found a study where erectile function and sexual desire improved in men post surgery. Perhaps getting this hernia repaired will fix my issue with testosterone.

@markis655 can you give us a little more info on the hernia.I have been getting on and of pain in the groin and when I check the testes out, there is no pain within. So I think it a possible hernia.

My pain is also on and off. It’s in my left groin area and I get lower back pain and side pain also. Weaker erections and decreased libido associated with low testosterone.

My left teste has pain on and off too but I can’t really feel the pain in the teste, I can maybe feel a bit of pain in the veins above it which is why I thought I had a varicocele, but have had multiple ultrasounds that point to there not being a varicocele, will be having another testicular ultrasound in the standing position to confirm no varicocele.

@sloppyrig you have similar symtoms?

I have every thing you state except sex drive. I’m going to see a doc in a few days about it

@sloppyrig
Definitely ask your doctor for an ultrasound and say you suspect it may be a hernia. Good luck

@markis655 cheers mate

Well I’m being referred to a surgeon to discuss options for the hernia. Doctor said it’s possible that the hernia could be affecting blood supply to my testes which could affect test production. Since I’m in Canada it’s most likely gonna be about a year before I get that surgery.

I’m thinking I’m gonna do a trial of TRT while I wait. My mental health has been really bad lately and alot of things are changing at my workplace leaving lots of room for opportunity but I need to be at my best. I can always try coming off TRT later down the road after the surgery to see where I’m at.

I think I’ll try 160mg test enanthate with injections twice weekly. The only other potential scare is I’ll have to find a doctor to get bloodwork done with as I’d rather not tell my family doc about this.

Really tough decision considering I’m only 24 but I really feel I just can’t go any longer like this or I’d have to quit my job. I’m already struggling with friendships, lost my relationship, and dealing with depression and anxiety. I’m in a really dark place and will do anything to get out of it ASAP. Will also begin a strict workout routine and diet plan.

Still really on the fence but I think I’m gonna end up going through with it. I hate living this low T existence

Mate honestly, what are you waiting for?
I think 160mg twice a week is a good place to start. Wait at least 2 months to see where you end up, how you feel and where to go from that point. I am nearly 3 weeks in and feeling the same as before, I’m not complaining as I can survive feeling like this as I have dealt with it for 5 years.

You really need a pharma grade stuff that you can keep getting your hands on, I imagine if you swith from ugl to ugl there is a high chance of different dosing that could disrupt the balance.

I would really advise trying to find a doctor that specialises in this but I think you have tried and are at wits ends.

Whatever you do keep this forum posted and I hope it all works out

@sloppyrig
What’s your protocol?
Also yes I’m going to be starting TRT in the next week or so. Realistically I’m not worried about getting prescribed right now as I can always get that later. Right now I just want my mental health back. The only concern I have is getting bloodwork as here in Canada there are no private options and bloodwork must be ordered from a doctor. I’ll figure it out.

I’m on 100mg a week pinned twice a week. It’s going to be hard not doing bloods as from my understanding that you will need to keep a close eye on prolactin and hematocrit amongst a whole lot of other things.

I would suggest going maybe 150mg a week that seems average amongst most people. Also your mental health might not come back for 6 months on trt alone, you are really going to have to get diet, sleep, exercise, meditate and a psychologist to get you through the time in between

@sloppyrig
Yeah that’s the only thing I’m really concerned about. I’ll likely have to tell my doctor about everything and I doubt he’ll be happy and I’m worried he’ll not wanna do the bloodwork or something. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there though.

For everything else I’m pretty excited. I’ve been low T for 2 almost 3 years and soon enough that’ll be over with

Well I did it. Just injected 180 mg into my quad. Fairly painless injection hopefully I got it all right. This will either be the best decision I ever make or a big mistake. Will update as things progress

You’ll be fine. Don’t expect immediate results though… It took me literally 7 weeks before I improved, but I DID improve. I had a little trouble sleeping in the beginning but that as about it.
