After 6 months on TRT with some muscle gain and fat loss , I considered a restart program . I would like my natural T level to go back into range and get off TRT . I have primary hypoG . My nuts have alway been half sized . I was able to have 3 kids . The thing I don’t like about TRT is the occasional bouts of ED I get .
I take anastrozole and got my E2 at 22 . I inject 2x weekly with 60mg each dose. My TT level is 550-600 . What else would you try first before trying restart - my TT was 200 before TRT , I had 0 ED problems then , but was struggling to loose fat also . I am 45 yo .
See if you can check your free T level next time you get blood work.
If you have low SHBG and TT of 550-600 your free T could be 2-3x above the
top of the range. High Free T is a big time libido killer and cause of ED.
Before you give up TRT you may want to give Aromasin a try. It made a huge
difference for me. Adex crashed me continually, and even with a small amount
it beat my libido down.
If you’re primary, a restart isn’t going to do any good. I agree with PKNY. Some of are not so lucky that we can go with the standard protocol and feel great. I feel better with my free T and E2 in the low 20s. I have low SHBG so this puts me under 500 on total T. I’m also off Adex, so I could have been having sides from that.
If you can get your free T and E2 in the low 20s, should be able to rule those out as a source of any issues. You might not feel like superman, but you should feel good. If not, look elsewhere.
Low dose Cialis is great stuff. I take 6mg ED. Good for overall health if you’re a little older, and great for boners. I prefer low dose every day to a larger dose for the big event. Larger doses give me headaches. Research chem companies are your friend. Stuff is expensive to buy at pharmacies in the US.
They both do essentially the same thing AI, but work via different pathways.
You can search the site or google for the technical analysis, but the reality is that
for a decent amount of guys running into problems with adex, aromasin is much better.

Never tried Aromasin but they do have a different mode of operation. I’ve read more than once that Anastrozole may not work well with clomid. Not sure if that’s just broscience?
If I need an AI again, I’m going to try Aromasin. Dosing Anastrozole can be problematic. I was dissolving it in vodka and using a dropper to get smaller doses. Kind of a pain in the ass.
I decided to stick it out for a year - see how things go . ED is only occasional and I can deal with that . TRT has benifit of loosing fat and gaining muscle so I don’t want to loose that benifit

PKNY, your case appears very similar to mine. Question: Is high Free T a problem of and by itself, or is it the associated E2 levels that lead to ED/libido issues?
I’ve found it better to keep free T near the top of the normal range. That’s where I feel the best. Letting free T get much higher than that can cover up other issues, exacerbate other issues and/or make controlling E2 more difficult. It seems logical to me that we would try and use as little AI as possible while still optimizing T levels. E2 is obviously needed and I think it’s reasonable to assume an AI could be interfering with healthy E2 levels in some tissue. All we can see is blood levels. Less is more seems like a logical approach to me with an AI.
If you keep free T at the high end of normal, you should be able to eliminate that as a source of any issues. If you’re still not feeling that great, look elsewhere.
