Congressmen Phil Hare: 'Screw the Constitution'

… or, rather “I don’t worry about the Constitution on this…[healthcare]”

Whichever side of the aisle you’re on, you still take an oath to uphold it. If you don’t care about it, then work to change it, but, it is the basis of law in the US.

This really is a huge part of the problem. Congresscritters don’t really understand what the limits of their jobs are because they don’t understand fundamental civics and the founding documents of this country.

Admittedly, the camera guy is kind of a douchebag.

The Congressman is indeed surely a liar, claiming to have read that bill three times.

There was a follow-up video of him saying that what he meant was that he wasn’t worried about the legislation being unconstitutional, which is certainly not the context under which he uttered that statement.

I did the math on that, for him to have successfully read it 3 times, he would had to have read each page within a 30 second period for 24 hours nonstop, for 3 days straight.

If you quizzed each person in Congress about either the Constitution or Declaration of Independence, I wonder how they would score. I say less than 1/2 would get a passing grade, and I am being very generous in my assumption.

Well, c’mon. How could he have had time to ever read the Constitution when he is so busy with reading current legislation, for example in going through 2900 page bills three times?

Ya gots to make choices in life. Can’t do everything.

My old coach used to say, “excuses are like assholes, everybody’s got one.”

I sincerely salute the man. If only we could get a bunch of the forum dwellers here to be so honest. Here is a man telling us outright that the constitutional rule of law cannot be allowed to interfere with his compassionate agenda.

Hats Off, I really do mean that. I have much more respect for this than people who have the exact same views as Hare and talk about American values and tradition. He is telling us he doesn’t care. I’ll take that any day.

I see where Tirib is going, yea he was honest enough to say he doesn’t care. At least you know where you stand with a guy like that (in deep and utter shit).

I didn’t see the follow up.

EDIT: Or Steely’s second post. I only saw the original report on TV and didn’t read anything in this thread before responding as I’ve been busy the last couple days. My mistake.

The ‘clarification’ from Phil “Fuck that worthless piece of shit Constitution” Hare:

I know that it may seem unreasonable or unscientific or fundamentally unfair to think that one can quite often tell just by looking at someone’s face what sort of person they are.

All I’d have to do with this guy is take one look at him. I would think that would be all anyone would have to do.

However it may be that most in his district WANT exactly that kind of person.

what do you think about this guy?

I just finally saw the whole thing. There is no getting outta this one. He definitely said he doesn’t care what the constitution says in relation this health care seizure. Truth is that the leftists of the world view the U.S. constitution, which defines this country, as an inherently unjust impediment to their mission. The more it can be undermined the better.

The entire axis of power reigning in DC right now has dedicated it’s existence to defeating our reliance on constitutional law by bold redefinition to be followed by wholesale abandonment in the future. Count on it.

And unfortunately, after his health care “reform” (that word being Newspeak) victory, Obama will likely feel emboldened to nominate a card-carrying member of the Communist Party for his next Supreme Court appointment.

Who will, of course, always “discover” whatever Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their like want there to be in that “living, breathing document.”

For that matter, Phil Hare may have just put himself on the short list.

Is it just me, or is Hare subtly giving the finger with his left hand throughout that video?

Another Illinois political gem we have here.
