I see acting like a responsible adult more important than that. If he works, pays his own way, and contributes to his community what else is needed?

Do you also not like people with odd voices and speech patterns? What about people who laugh a lot?

The “man” thing to do not caring about shit that isn’t going to kill you, correct?

If its his natural personality, let him be.

Stay in your own lane
Keep on truckin

Do you like the dude who “acts like a man” but has no job and lives with his parents or the guy who smacks his lips and walks with glam about him who is on his grind day in day out?
You just might be the coolest poster on T-Nation.
Pssst! Don’t encourage him. You might not wake up tomorrow morning. And if you DO wake up, you won’t know where the HELL you are.

I think many men would feel less conflicted when they realize it’s not really gays that they hate but guys that act sissy.

That may sound weird but what I mean is I’m fine with homosexuals, but I find that the ones that act more gay then Carson on Queer Eye make me want to tell them that they’re acting like a teenage girl. I mean like the worst guy on Project Runway that’s rolling his eyes and snapping his fingers.
You can be gay, but act like a man.
It’d be interesting to see how many homophobes got a religious background. I’m willing to bet that it’s a high %. Also, the % split by age.
Some homophobes justify it on religious grounds. As someone who works in science and is religious I know more scientists and students with homophobic views than religios people with them, the few religious ones I know are just louder.

I’m not saying that my freinds and aquaintances are an accurate sample. But the beleif that everyone who beleives in God is a homophobe, or even that the majority or a significant minority are homophobes is one that I have observed to be false

Homophobia is a personal pet peeve of mine. I go mad in 0.01 if I sense homophobia somewhere. I had to stop reading the comments in different newspapers about NY approving same-sex weddings.
But I think we have a forum to discuss these matters…

Homophobia is a personal pet peeve of mine, also.

Same sex marriage is one of the few issues that I feel strongly about and have very little patience towards bigotry and ignorance.

There’s a thread deadicated to NY approving same-sex weddings in PWI.

I read all of the posts, knowing what i’d be reading… but, I couldn’t help myself. Plus, my wife was in there fighting the good fight, knowing that the argument was futile against guys that are so hard-wired religiously.
Damn you IH! It’s like watching a car crash. I knew not to go over there, and yet I did.
Ha! Misery loves company.

I will not drop by there then, it really gets me very stressed and there’s nothing I can say to change their minds.
The other day I had to switch off the computer after reading a guy, in a newspaper, saying that “All psychological-based professionals know for sure that homosexuality is caused by a bad father, since they all grow to worship their mothers and hate their fathers, so they turn into homosexuals”.
That theory is antiquated and reeks of ignorance, imo.

It’s funny, because when I was in grade school, my teacher asked my mom as to who was the disciplinarian and which parent was I closest to… Which was my mother.(My father did not play that much of a role in my life for a few reasons, but he was there, nonetheless.)

My teacher went on to say she felt that my father should take over as the dominant parent, so that I could grow up as a “normal” boy and have better grades than I was getting. Otherwise, I would probably be gay and have learning disabilities.

Although my mother was appalled, she and my father took the teachers advice… It failed miserably.

I am nowhere near being gay.

But, my boyfriend is… J/K

just saw this thread… I was debating on starting a thread about all of the gay men at my new gym but it looks like there is already a gay discussion going on over here in GAL lol
Due to visiting a relative in the area, I used the 24hr fitness in Hillcrest.

…interesting experience. I guess it was more amusing than anything else.

Several of the homosexuals I know are likely more manly than 50% of the posters on this site and they express on a daily basis how much they hate “flaming queens” that go out of their way to make people know their gay and somewhat uncomfortable about it.
Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. No one should act like a whining 16 year-old girl. Not even 16 year-old girls should act like that.
Agreed , a lot.

I’m not homophobic but I don’t like to watch gay guys make out.

That’s one thing I thought a long time ago too…I am for gay rights but I was a little conflicted as to how I knew I would never ever want to see two guys going at it…even in pictures…then I realized that there are many many straight couples I would also never ever want to see going at it.

I don’t like seeing men and women make out.

But, two women? TOTALLY different story.

Well this thread turned out a lot different than I had expected. Thank god most of the PWI folks haven’t found it yet.
