Symptoms were - fatigue, not as strong erections, libido and primarily anxiety. This has been my curse for many years and I’m on 10mg Citalopram and 5 Mgs Valium for sleep.
Everything was going fine up until a few weeks ago where I started feeling like crap, sweating, anxiety and over xmas my eyesight has gone a bit blurry. Also had sensitive nipples.
This has sent my anxiety through the roof as I don’t handle medical issues well at all.
I’m due to get more bloods done on the 7th Jan but not being able to get these done sooner or get access to my doc over Xmas has sent me into a spin.
Appreciate the symptoms above may be normal and aromatising testosterone but I went on TRT to get off tablets not have to take more.
So my question to you guys who know is
(1) Can I get off this?
(2) How do I do it and when do I start?
(3) Will I turn into a gibbering wreck in the process?
I’m truly gutted that this isn’t for me as I was hoping it was the golden ticket for my mental health. However my head now feels like I’m meddling with nature and it doesn’t like it.
If I can just get off this safely and smoothly I’ve learnt a lot about how to improve my levels while being natty.
Appreciate you taking the time to read this and all advice welcome.
Thanks for coming back to me. Readings are probably UK measurements so can update and stick in the ranges.
Ive decided to come off as it was messing with my head just being on it. As well as the E2 issue.
Doc said just to stop taking it as ive been on it a short period (8wks actually) and low dose. Says i will “likely” go back to pre T levels in 6-12 wks.
She advised against PCT due to my anxiety issues…
Ill see what happens and keep you posted.
My balls are still spinning so hopefully something still alive down there!
Pct drugs are not 100% required all of the time. The longer you have been shut down the harder it is to recover. You have only been in for a couple months so you should be fine. Unless you are an outlier you can just wait it out and keep getting bloodwork to make sure things are going in the right direction. If after another 3-4 weeks you are not recovering then start to think about using clomid.
IMO though it would be beneficial to take a few weeks is 1mg arimidex to get that estrogen down.
Are you taking anything else like HCG currently?
Wasnt put on HGC from the outset as apparently it can cause anxiety.
Estrogen wise my nipples arent sore anymore so im hoping its sorting itself out.
Ill ask about that other drug but the doc now says i have to pay for a full consultation if i want anymore info…guess theres no money in people coming off T…
Im due another blood test on the 7th Jan so will let you know the E2 number from that.
How the hell did you end up with lower total t from being on 92mg of test a week, that doesn’t seem right. Was that blood test a finger prick test, or an nhs venous one? And how did you split 92mg over 3 shots, 31, 31, 30?!
Ok, well that was a strange blood test result you had (and fyi, it was 96 not 92mg you were taking). I reckon the lab messed the testing up. Only way to know would to have had it repeated, but if you’re off trt now anyhow i guess you can’t do that. I take 84mg/week split 42/42 every 3.5 days and although my e2 runs quite high (184 pmol/l, 50.1 pg/ml), my last trough total t was 25.4 nmol/l (732 ng/dl). Could be wrong, but i think your blood test was duff (also, before you went on, your total t was higher and your e2 was lower)
Yeah the potential of a wrong blood test is very real and they have offered me a free one again on the 7th Jan which I will use as my baseline to find out where I have to get back from…
That aside i was having a lot of other side effects while on the T which put me off it at this stage. Not saying i wont try it again but too much going on my life right to be dealing with a host of side effects.
Finally the fact that the blood tests potentially can be wrong make me wary of the whole process to!!!
I feel you, same for me really wanted it to work but it just brings negatives and no positives. So many other reports everywhere too of so many guys lives taking a downward spiral since starting T. Im also coming off and cannot wait to dump this trash, hope your recovery goes well brother! Hopefully its a smooth transition off for you.
Could it be that he needed to be on a higher dosage of T? Probably his body shut down T production and he needed to maybe be on 120mg / week of T
12-13 is probably his natural level. Elevated e2 was probably another issue while he was on trt which would explain some of the negative effects he felt on trt
Just updating this incase anyone follows it for advice.
6 wks off now.
No anxiety issues coming off which was my biggest concern.
Balls seem to have grown back to normal size.
Noticeable symptom return (fatigue, get up and go, libido etc etc). Nothing dramatic but any muscle definition I had has just run off me in the shower. Quite fascinating (in a shit way) to notice the difference.
Now ive had the cold for 2 weeks which hasn’t helped.
Im waiting until 8 wks to get my levels tested and…i might get back onto TRT!!
Got speaking to a much better clinic and they said my protocol was probably to blame…suggesting daily dosing and possibly a different ester and at a higher dose. Explained the Estrogen/Testosterone ratio to me properly. Just felt a lot more comfortable about the whole thing talking to them.
Because I was able to get off so easily I’m tempted to try again!!
So I got my 10 weeks bloods done after coming off. My T is EXACTLY the same level it was at before I started T. Balls are back in full swing albeit underperforming!!!
