Auburn of course outscored, but Alabama did miss 3 legit FG attempts. Don’t consider that last try anything but suicide by brain freeze.
Ready for playoffs just because of years like this one

I agree, but what if FSU does make it to the title game and Winston doesn’t play? How much of a letdown would that be, geez.

So let the debate begin:
Assuming FSU beats Duke and Ohio State beats Michigan State WHO faces FSU in Pasadena?
OSU
a once beaten SEC team (Auburn or Mizzou)
When the BCS standings come out tonight I expect that OSU will still have a decent margin, which will not be overcome with them playing a top10 opponent.
Whether that’s what people want is irrelevant at this point.
Let me rephrase: regardless of BCS number crunching which team is more “deserving” of the title shot? An unbeaten OSU or a once beaten SEC team?
Which ever team puts more butts in the seats, and more channels tuned in.
Last year’s title game was such a flop, I certainly hope they consider a reasonable match-up for FSU. I think OSU.
For anyone who thinks Auburn won on the last play, consider that Auburn rushed for 296 yards against Alabama. Rushing yards are brutal on an opposing defense, takes the life out of them.

Auburn played great. What killed Alabama was not going for that 31 yard field goal in the fourth and going for it on 4th and 1 instead. I know Saban didn’t trust his kicker, but he did make one from around there that was nullified by a penalty earlier. It’s amazing the difference between college and the pros. Every pro team kicks that field goal to go up by two possessions, but I guess field goal kickers are harder to come by in college.

That would be terrible! I’m sure FSU has a capable backup but it would be a huge disappointment.
It would be pretty sweet if Ohio state and FSU both lost. I think the chances of that are 5% but it would be incredible! Complete chaos and pandemonium ![]()
This is a year where I really wish there was a four team playoff. 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. FSU vs Alabama than Ohio State vs Auburn. That would be interesting.
Gonna be a fucking BCS bullshit paper champion year. Perfect way for the BCS to go out lol.

Dont mind him, he is drunk.
I had predicted OSU vs Bama.
Personally I would love to see Bama vs FSU

I don’t think anyone who isn’t an Ohio state fan wants to see them play in the NC Game based on their track record in recent years.

Agreed. Kind of like OU
I just keep saying that you have a weak Big 10 and OSU is the only one worth a shit, after a long year of quality teams beating up on each other you would have One standing and OSU. So the “media” and BCS would have no choice but stick them in there.

Can we not just count a one point victory over Michigan a loss?? Aren’t they basically the same thing.

Nope, that is why I love all this turmoil.
ONLY FUCKING division one sport that does not have a playoff system.
This is not the fucking eukanuba dog show, this game is decided on the field.
So glad this is the last year of this shit.
This won’t be the end of it.
Now there will just be a 1 loss team who isn’t picked for one of the 4 spots and the drama will be with those teams being left out. The 4 team thing isn’t going to change all that much.

True, but its the beginning of a true playoff.
Have to start somewhere, they will not go backwards.
Just think what would happen if Mizz “upsets” auburn next week in a last second play or OT win.
Does a 1 loss Alabama deserve to move ahead of an Auburn team that just beat then a week before because Auburn lost in the SEC Championship game? A game that Alabama didn’t even earn the right to play in?
That would be a sticky BCS scenario.
Anyway, I just think this 4 team deal is the first step in implementing a full on playoff. An 8 team playoff would actually be pretty great IMO because I highly doubt anyone that isn’t a top 8 team at the end of the year could actually win it all anyway.

Agreed.
I’m interested to see how the teams are chosen for the top 4 spots.
Are there any conditions/restrictions applied to it like AQ’s or # of teams from a single conference? I haven’t heard anything about that.
If there is a national championship without an SEC team in it then football is broken. I would not even entertain the idea of watching such a farce.

Really? Cause the SEC have won every year since the beginning of the BCS?

Not because of history, because of the quality of both Auburn and Alabama. The goal should be for the two best teams to compete against each other in the national championship. Hypothetically if you’ve got top two or three teams in the nation in one conference, they could easily scar each others’ records enough to keep them out of the running in favor of a couple teams from a different conference who are undefeated against a bunch of bullshit kindergarten teams that they steamrolled.
