College football 2013

Look at how awesome the SEC is… Look at the teams that they are beating:

Vanderbilt - Austin Peay, UMass, UAB, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wake… All terrible
Florida - Toledo, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas… All terrible
Tennessee - Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, South Alabama, Kentucky… All terrible
Kentucky- Miami of Ohio and Alabama State… Terrible
Georgia - North Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Appalachian State… All terrible

I could keep going but I won’t. You get the picture. The top dogs in the conference get to beat up on those turd teams and gets strength of schedule boots because of how tough the SEC is.

Let me ask you this: who have some of the top teams beaten this year… Who has Mizz beat this season who was good? They won their half of the SEC and beat nobody good.

What about LSU? They beat 1 good team this year and that was auburn.

What about South Carolina? They beat two good teams out of their 12 games.

Etc. etc. etc.

I am not discrediting the teams winning national championships, I am just pointing out that this huge supposed gap in conferences isn’t really there. Just because you happen to have the team that wins it all doesn’t mean the conference is so much better than everyone else, it just means that one particular team from that conference was.

The East is abysmal this year, after Georgia took its lumps and figured out that its defense wasn’t near the defense that sent 7 players to the league last year it just started sliding, Florida was in much the same boat. Georgia played Clemson, South Carolina, and Missouri, Florida played Florida State, South Carolina, and Missouri; And lets look at Ole Miss: Name another team in the country not in the SEC who had to play a schedule like Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU consecutively, couple weeks of cupcakes, Missouri then a rivalry game?? Any team in the SEC West had to play 4 to 5 games more difficult than any one game on Ohio State’s schedule.

The west isn’t great. Auburn and Bama are really good but everyone else is kinda Meh.

What good teams has LSU beaten? Auburn.
What good teams has A&M beaten? No one.

So again, like I’ve been saying the whole time, the whole SEC is so superior isn’t really true.

Man on a mission.

Would any team in the Big 10 outside of Ohio State beat, LSU or A&M?? I don’t think they would but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Hahaha I’m just pointing out obvious things that for some reason people seem to overlook

I get the whole sports biased and college football fans are the worst but how can people not see this? Maybe they do and just ignore it cause it doesn’t support their stance on the issue.

It’s hard to say cause anything can happen but outside of Ohio State and Michigan state I would have to say I doubt it lol

Michigan State is a pretty good team this year.

I mean I said earlier in this thread that I thought the Pac 12 was the best conference this year, although the longer they went down the stretch the less they looked like it and the more the SEC did. The Bottom teams are about equal, the middle was a little better in the SEC and the top was better in the SEC.

If you have a case for a conference that is better than the SEC this year feel free to make it. So far you have tried to convince me that the SEC isn’t really the top dog. I want to know, if not them then who is?

I will give you that, and I will be routing for them come Saturday.

Hypothetical, if Missouri Beats Auburn, Mich St. Beats OSU, and Winston goes to prison and Duke Beats FSU, will we end up with an all SEC national Championship again in Alabama v Mizzou??

I don’t think there is a big difference between the top conferences. Every conference has up years and down seasons.

I’m not saying one is better than the others cause each conference has good teams, ok teams and bad teams.

Possibly, I just don’t see that happening.

Winston isn’t going to jail. Ohio State might lose but Florida State will win.

Yeah, That was the only way I could see FSU losing and even if that happened I wouldn’t be sure. But I figure we will have an FSU/OSU title game. I really wanted to see FSU/Bama and Stanford/OSU Rose Bowl so I am fairly disappointed.

I highly doubt anything would happen to Winston, the accuser claimed her attacker was 5’9 - 5’11, Winston is 6’4.

Even if it did go further, FSU “affiliates” will pay her off to stay quiet, provided she sign a confidentiality agreement.

I really do believe that the Winston thing is pretty much a witch hunt on the kid but I started off liking the kid this season so maybe I am trying not to believe it. I do agree with his attorney though that they either need to bring charges or drop it and quit with the muddling around.

I think the powers that be will make sure this goes away, one way or another.

Wasn’t the accuser his ex girlfriend? I swear I heard that somewhere. They dated for a while and he broke it off and now he raped her lol

Rumor around here is she was a fuck buddy. His real gf was coming to town and he told old girl to lay low.

Also rumored that they’ve had relations since the incident.

I will probably put my foot in my mouth here because I don’t know enough about college football or the BCS but here goes. This is my take on how the SEC looks from outside the conference.

Let’s say hypothetically OSU and Michigan State have a squeaker of a game with OSU coming out on top. OSU then goes on to the BCS Championship game with FSU and OSU gives them the business by two touchdowns. Does this present the Big 10 as a more powerful conference? Michigan State played the National Champions very well, as did Michigan and Wisconsin. Penn State beat Wisconsin, Nebraska beat Penn State, Minnesota beat Nebraska. Sounds like parity. Maybe the best indicator of a conference’s strength is the number of players the NFL drafts from that conference and how they perform at the next level? Maybe not?
