Coffee: What's Your Drink?

winkroar3, Kona would be right for Hawaii. they ahve another ‘type’ over ther but Kona if prominant. i wa on Maui and Kaaui last year, its a whole different taste than mainland coffee, but very good.

This is crazy but a deli right off of spring st. in NYC use to make a blend of columbian and french roast. Was the best coffee I ever had. But it might be that way since it was the first coffee I ever had and that was in 1986.

I’m getting a bit wired on a starbucks triple-shot Americano right now, but when I’m at home I rock a French press with a dark roast.

I use what’s called a “moka” (aka “stovetop espresso”)

There’s a decent description here:

It makes a damn fine cup, considerably faster than a french press, but you really need to have a good burr grinder. Whirling-blade will not cut it.

I just got to try cold-brewed, and loved it. I may rig myself a setup, though I probably wouldn’t drink it every day.

I’m really envious of that vac pot…I live with too many people to have something that fragile in the kitchen.

Haha. I like coffee with goat milk, but I also like mate with goat milk. Depends on my mood. However, I have never tried goat blood.

N. and I managed a coffee kiosk in a professional building in Grand Rapids for a year. We sold Equal Exchange coffee, one of the first free-trade companies, at a minimal profit for the basic drinks, and made up some killer specialty drinks. My hit was the White Tiger, three shots of espresso with heavy cream and white chocolate. (This was before I was educated to the P/F-P/C principle, but we used local cream and premium chocolate and other ingredients for all our drinks, and made a ton of money.)

Anyway, Equal Exchange has some GREAT coffee. We had people coming to us from all over downtown on a daily basis (even though we were just a little place in a medical building) and were told several times we served the best coffee in the city. Their french roast was incredible, but really all their coffees and teas were incredible.

I kid you not but my girlfriend has some of that coffee that some animal in Indonesia eats the beans, but shits them out undigested and they seel the beans.

She told me this 2 months after we started drinking it.
