Terrorists would’ve attacked no matter who is the President. Is Blair to blame for the attacks in the UK?

This is just proof how uneducated people in our country actually are.

If the poll said that Clinton was to blame then HH, Jerfy, and crew would say the poll is correct.

marm, please reference a post of mine where I used a poll to try to support or refute any argument.

I’d be surprised if you found even an oblique reference.

I know, it’s easier just to paint everyone who thinks you are full of it with a label. In your world, facts are expendable.

JeffR

You never start a thread by citing a poll and most posters on this forum do not start threads by citing pols but you sure would weigh in as a cheer leader.

Are you saying you never responded to a thread where a poll was cited as evidence?

Nice try jerky.

You lose as usual.

Good old marm.

So if I respond to a thread I’m somehow endorsing poll information?

Got it.

Oh, I noticed that your original assertion was that I would respond favorably to a poll that traduces hillary “our golden chance” clinton.

I asked for ANY evidence that I EVER based any thought or action on a poll.

You couldn’t find it.

Point, match, game.

Do you agree that this country should blame bush?

Well some of us expect our leaders to spring into action, to call someone, to do something, but Bush did nothing. (Well he did demote terrorism as a priority—but to me that sounds bad.)

Yes, there is more than one leader. The USA has a checks and balances system.

Again, why is one man blamed for all that is wrong with the US? Bush wasn’t in office for very long when this happened. Do you think he would have had support when going after terrorists for preventative measures? It would have had less social support than the Iraqi war.

Remember that there is a Congress, our government is not run by one man.

Isn’t the executive branch run by the President?

Would it have helped if the President took terrorism seriously? Like how about not demoting counter-terrorism from a cabinet level?

Would it have helped if the DOJ didn’t demote terrorism priority from top priority (RENO) to not in top seven (ASHCROFT)?

Could the Veep’s counter-terrorism group have held maybe a meeting? Maybe when things were “blinking red” according to the CIA?

How about the president just simply reading the aug 6. PDB (Bin laden determined to strike). He didn’t even read it. And that PDB is the culmination of months of effort of intelligence trying to communicate to the whitehouse the severity of the threat which the admin never took seriously (again he didn’t read the PDB)

Had he actually read it, perhaps instead of thinking the first plane was a “bad pilot”, maybe he would have thought “al qaeda”—Tenet sure did.

Bush was as soft on terror then as you guys are now. He has never cared about terrorism and obviously still doesn’t. (See creation of terrorist disneyland in Iraq, the vacuum left in Afghanistan, the rise of Iran’s influence…etc…)

With hindsight being 20/20, we can make all sorts of allegations and I am sure he personally thinks he could have done better (looking back). You said he was informed about the attacks on Aug 6? Is one month ample time to be able to stop what happened?

Again, our government is not run by one man. Terrorist attacks were not viewed then as they are today (by almost any American).

if our government is a collection of people, why is the blame placed on one man?

Again that PDB is the culmination of months of intelligence trying to communicate to the whitehouse that the lights were “blinking red”.

And again this after the administration had already decided to not take terrorism seriously. (Deprioritized terror).

But to answer your question, he probably would have needed to read the PDB to have done anything, but he didn’t, just like he never bothered to read the histories of the people of Iraq…

Gotta wonder what the HamBergerler had stuffed in his pants. How many PDB’s did Clinton have that went ignored?

must have been plenty - He had umpteen chances to thwart Al Qaiada, kill UBL, and prosecute a war on terror - but he did nothing.

Bush is in office for less that 8 months and it is all his fault.

8 years v. 8 months - who had the time to do something but didn’t?

In all fairness we know that CNN isn’t pro Bush and that polls are the easiest things to manipulate. We’re enterntained with Democrat vs. Republican stupidity while our country is going to hell.

  2. 1-2-3-4 we don’t want your fucking war! no more war. ever. there is just never a good reason for it. if you get attacked, TALK to those who attacked you! try and understand what WE did wrong! after all. we ARE america, right! it HAS to be our fault!

  3. not enough free money for people in need. ta-da! we need to raise taxes! some people are going to have to work if don’t raise taxes to keep the walfare state chugging forward.

oh, and while we’re at it we gotta raise that minimum wage, man! burger flippers should make, what, $10 an hour? $20? because there should be no incentive to get an education or work hard to get promotion! everyone should just make…well…whatever we mandate they should make. i mean, we don’t ask kids to get good grades.

do we even give grades anymore? those things are as outdated and mean-spirted as dodgeball, you conservative dinosaurs! and when small businesses fail and wal-mart gets even bigger you’ll really be able to bitch and throw fits about how bad america is!

You’re getting more and more stupid, I’m guessing your one of the 30% of uneducated americans that believed Saddam had ties to al qaeda.I’m always wondering “who are those idiots?” Turns out its you and headhunter.

What is it with the ABBer’s/Hate America crowd these days?

Seems asking for clarification of broad statements is just an exercise in futility.

Ahhhh…100M and is addiction to the polls.

Iraq was a open supporter of islamo-fascist terrorists. That is undisputable.

I could give a shit what 70% of the rest of the country thinks. They are wrong.

Just think of us a s the curve busters - kinda like in college. Those brainiacs that always made 95’s and screwed up the curve for the rest of the class were never very popular either.

What is it with the neocons??..

Is blind now defined by whether we see things your way or not?

What is it you see that I am missing?

You have failed miserably at backing up your own bullshit statements when asked to do so. Why is that?

There is no one stupider than he who refuses to think with his own brain.
