Clinton Campaign, DNC Funded Russia Dossier?!

When you ridicule people into silence, and shame them. Don’t act surprised when they don’t “evolve” back to your position when you change it to where they were when you ridiculed them.

(Proverbial you.)

Translation, people got laughed at, went full crybaby snowflake and gave up their views, and shouldn’t be expected to change back from the view they shouldn’t have been pussies about giving up in the first place.

That’s one way of looking at it… I know victim blaming is all the rage these days, but don’t act like there isn’t mountains of partisan politics being played here, and there is plenty of egg on face deserved on both sides.

No they just start to think the left are crazy and start ignoring them or treating them as stupid.

Luckily I have a glowing history of shitting on both Dems and republicans

Guess stupid is as stupid does. Momma always used to say that

Cute. I’m rather enjoying watching the left suddenly recognize Russia is a threat. It’s amusing. I guess the uranium sales and reset button were mistakes? Or yes cool college communists? Or the Che shirts? Sorry, I can’t take you seriously.

I’m sure we’ll both survive just fine. Have a good one.

I will. I’m surprused you can feed yourself

Yes, my thumbs are large and the phone keyboard small. Glad you find that ironic, never mind that your ideas are poorly thought out and dogmatic. Needy liberal.

That’s really not a fair comparison. That was before Putin’s power plays in Crimea/Ukraine and Syria (not to mention the blatant election meddling). Putin had just started his third term as president at that point (his second ending in 2008)

Your (hyper?) partisanship is on display here.

I’m NOT saying that as an insult or a put down, but rather in the hopes that you take an honest look at what I’m saying.

Then I guess I am missing your point.

When the side that reacts to Romney’s statement with the reaction they did, now suddenly realizes he’s right, and is slamming the shit out of the Russian narrative, the only qualifying statement that applies is simply: “Shit, Romney was correct, and America now has a whole lot of egg on their face because we didn’t listen.”

Romney was objectively correct, and if one is to refute that, then one can’t also believe the current “but Russia” narrative and be consistent.

In that case, I agree. Romney was correct.

Right now, we don’t have evidence Russia fucked around with the election. We have suspicions of collusion, which is damn near impossible to prove. You can talk to Russians, you can even agree with Russians and that not be collusion. There is a big difference between taking out facebook ads and actually twisting the dials. The latter is actually highly illegal, the former is frowned upon and the laws governing it are far murkier.

And further, the recent history with U.S. ~ Russia relations drives straight to the heart of the matter. It goes to motive. If the actions of the Obama Administration, relationships with HRC and the Clinton Foundation have yielded them basically all they could dream of and more, it begs the question as to why they would want them out of the way. Because HRC criticized them? That’s not a thing the Russians ever gave a shit about. If they did, they would not have annexed Crimea or helped the Assad regime, because that’s way worse press then anything hillary could have said.
And that is an important thing to consider, if the Russians don’t normally care about PR, why would PR be a motivation for them to get Hillary out of the way? After all, she gave them everything they asked for and more. To me that’s a candidate you want in the White House.

Motive does not matter? ‘Shirley, you can’t be serious?’ Try to run that up the justice system flag and see how it flies. I don’t think you’d make a good lawyer, no offense but motives matter and matter a lot. the explanatory power of motive is what connects the dots as to why they did or did not do something.
And you can be outraged all you want. Stomp in a circle, kick your dog, cuss out your neighbor over it, doesn’t matter to me. I was a bit more pissed off when the Russians and Syrians were bombing the shit out of Aleppo killing hundreds of innocent Syrians because the policies of the United States that basically threw out the welcome mat for Russian involvement. Involvement that has killed thousands.
That outraged me. And I wrote letters and statements to the Obama admin and to Samantha Power, the UN ambassador for the U.S. I even wrote the Jordanian Embassy begging all of them to stop Russia and Assad from murdering Aleppo. (That’s my virtue signal of the day…)

So no, I don’t get my panties in a wad over a few fake ads/ fake ads masking as news.

Yes, we do

Not the same thing

We have conclusive proof Russia fucked around with the election. We just don’t have proof Trump colluded with them. Proof must mean something different to you.

You’re either intentionally misreading it or I’m really bad at conveying the same thought over and over. Motive matters re: why did Russia do this. Motive doesn’t matter re: is this a big deal. No motive makes it not a big deal.

Awesome. Seems we’ve reached that agree to disagree territory.

Oh they did. Putin’s visceral hatred of HRC for her criticism is well documented, but HRC was also the villain du jour in Russian popular culture from back when she was the Secretary of State.

Mainstream TV shows ranting about “Hillary Clinton’s plans to destroy and carve up Russia” based on findings of an alleged mind reader (!) ), a bunch of conspiracy theory books involving Jews, giant lizards with HRC as the constant feature in retail outlets… And this was stuff pushed while she was SoS…

Many of those tropes that were making the rounds inside Russia were later toned down, repackaged, made more sensible and reused again in the form of memes for the US audience, at least what I could see in my Facebook feed…

Just a few days ago the Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman was tweeting about HRC allegedly hosting UBL in the White House (?!) accompanied by a crudely shopped gif. Again, a couple of days ago.

Wait, we know Russia fucked around with our election? It’s been confirmed?! By who, congress?

We have proof they took out ads and likley hacked the DNC email server. That’s far from meddling with voting machines.

We know the DNC was hacked and strongly suspect the Russians, it’s not been confirmed beyond reasonable doubt. According to the latest terminology, that’s ‘opposition research’.
Fucking around with the election must mean something different to you than it does to me. Hacking the DNC email server isn’t the same as messing with the election process. There is little evidence to support that the expose even helped. HRC sucked without anybody’s help. And somebody at the DNC paid $12 million dollars for this ‘opposition research’ done with the help of Moscow and know body manages to know who paid for it, where the money came from, etc. I don’t see a lot of innocent victims here.
