Cliff Jumping

Just got back from a trip to Christina lake and it was awesome, very nice place! Anyways I did some cliff jumping and thought I would share some videos. Sorry they are messed up, i’m not very good with a computer.

cliff jumping 2 - YouTube - This one is about 100 feet, the feeling in the air is amazing, it seems to last forever.

cliff jumping 3 - YouTube - This one is about 70 feet, the video is kinda far out so it’s not really good. The fun thing about this one is that you have to run down a 60 degree face for about 4 steps befor jumping.

cliif jump 1 - YouTube - It’s a bit dark but the sign reads “DANGER-STEEP CLIFFS” lol.

Anybody else do a little jumping?

mighty impressive. i ran the numbers though and that first jump is only 60 feet, which is still bloody high. you won’t see me jumping off anything over 30 feet.

ahh I guess my estimation is a bit off, lol.
I thought I could eye it pretty good since I play baseball and can eye out 90 feet within a foot or two but I guess because it’s horizontal it threw me off.

Could you give me the calculation to figure out the hight, thanks!

I plan on oging skydiving the 26th from 13500 feet…

I’ve done a rfee fall from 75 feet, fun shit… I never did it into water though. I bet its fun.

Awsome!, Skydiving is something I have allways wanted to do.

You did a 75 foot freefall but not into water? was this a bungee jump? I think that would be fun as well.

for the height in metres take the time of freefall in seconds, square it, and multiply by 4.9. divide this by 0.3 to get it in feet.

enjoy!

It was from a ‘ropes course’ in the woods. I jumped out of a tree while harnessed to a pulley system up in the tree… they stopped us about 15 feet above the ground, then let us down slowly.

Yes!

I love jumping off cliffs, I did it all the time in Maui.

Yeah, when I read 100 feet, my first thought was BULLSHIT! 60 feet is high, though. I think the highest I’ve ever done was around 60 or 65. I haven’t cliff jumped in years, but man it was fun.

If any of you are ever in Ithaca, New York in the summer, find someone to take you to Second Dam. Its a beautiful spot, and there are two jumps. One is about 40 feet or so, and the other is 50-60.

Very cool, but your measurements are off, there is no way that second one is 60 feet, it’s still a big jump, but not that big. That shit is a lot of fun, but if you’re not careful you can hurt some important places.

I’ve gone skydiving(~13000 ft.) and I’ve done waterfall/cliff jumping(upto 50ft.). Cliff jumping is a lot scarier/thrilling overall, but skydiving lasts for a whole minute of freefalling which is radical in its own right. The best part about skydiving is not the rush or the thrill, but the uniqueness of the experience. It’s not very often you get to be sitting at over 11,000 feet with no mountain around(I’ve also backpacked a 13,000 foot mountain so I have been that high without a plane)

When I last cliff-jumped, I smacked my chin from accidentally leaning in a little. It was actually really invigorating and made me want to jump again.

Now, Bungee jumping is something I have not done yet, but that seems like it would be very thrilling, ~300 ft. with rocks below you instead of water… plus one jump is like 10 jumps with all the rebounding.
