Clearance Time for Valium?

We catch people all the time with foreign objects.

Automatic positive drug screen result.

I would imagine that a 20yo prescription for anxiety would still be acceptable, assuming you can prove that (e.g., still have the bottle and your name is on the label). On the other hand, I wouldn’t expect the valium to still be effective 20 years later.

If you have a prescription, especially something prescribed PRN/“as needed”, how long is that prescription valid?

Why? He could’ve been given it at the ER. Besides, is his employer going to ask him to bring in a prescription and show him? Seriously? You give the script to the pharmacist when you fill it and even if you get a copy most people would throw it away unless they needed it for a tax deduction or something. But seriously, are you saying that an employer would ask you to bring in a prescription to show them?
This is what I do for a living. He will have to prove it was prescribed, not to his employer but to the Medical Review Officer (doctor who certifies the drug screen results).

Usually you can just give the MRO the name of the pharmacy where it was filled or the prescribing doctor and the MRO will call and verify. If it was given at the ER, it’s the same process. Give the MRO the name of the doctor or the name of the ER and they will verify.

If it was a valid prescription, it comes back as negative. Depending on the levels in his system, it may be marked as safety sensitive. If there is no prescription, it’s a positive test. If you try to dodge the MRO’s calls, after 7 days (varies from place to place) it will be considered a non-contact positive.
Well that answers all the OP’s questions. Sounds really tyrannical to me. Especially for something as mild as Valium.
Valium is mild? lol

I did more research, and I guess it depends both on the state and the [potential] employer.

In some places it seems a prescription is valid for up to 6 months; in others, up to 2 years. It also seems that possession of legally acquired but unused medication is generally fine, but use of that medication may not be.

So, like most things, “it depends”.

Use them maybe twice a month, after a hard training cycle i have 5mg just before i go to bed. Helps heaps in getting a good sleep and wake in the am feeling good, knocks the edge of CNS agitation and allows muscle relaxation and allows good sleep, works great.

HEY!

///fires somebody

Wouldn’t be surprised if u passed if that’s all u took. Let us know

^ no doubt… I wonder if it a drug test for a new job or a job u allready have. Its expensive to train new employees. If test is suspect you could just get a re-test. If it was me Id play it cool if employer said something Id claim the test was wrong and offer a retest at my expence as good faith. I havent done dts for any job im self employed personally id never take a job that does that shit. Got any more valium? I always wanted to try ludes those look fun.

Valium and ludes are different things.

Ludes are better, IMO

Relative to benzos like Rohypnol which will knock you out like a sack of spuds, yes.

You can pay for a retest, but the way it works is that the same sample is sent to a different lab. Plus, the threshold levels are lower on a confirmation screening than on the original screening. If you took it and it shows up the first time a re-test is a waste of cash.

After 20 years (if that is the truth), there may not be any active ingredients in the pill. That’s his best hope at this point.
