Circle Jerk Society
pushharder wrote:
Nah, I don’t think so. Conservatives, as you mentioned, may accuse liberals of being brainwashed and stupid (they usually are, mind you - HA!) but they don’t consistently fall back to that position when the going gets tough.
You need to get out more.
pushharder wrote:
I’ve seen pretty much all conservatives here disagree with each other quite a few times over the years and like I said, I for one have absolutely disagreed with every single regular poster on this forum at one time or another. So the circle jerk caricature really doesn’t exist.
I don’t think you can take this particular subforum to be representative of anything outside of what happens in this particular subforum.
pushharder wrote:
I do think the scale tips right, generally speaking, but I honestly believe that’s because there are some fairly rational participants here and it’s just plumb easier, and more rational, to argue politics, world affairs and religion from a right leaning perspective.

It has to tough being a liberal/progressive and try to present valid opinions that can withstand scrutiny. Seriously. The ones who’ve tried it – I mean in depth and not the drive-by, pot shot artists – usually do end up shifting to the right over the years. I don’t necessarily think it’s because the conservative posters are such magnificent conveyors of thought but rather their ideals are so much more explicable by their very nature.

My observations anyway. Do with them what you will.

And when I go to forums that are demonstrably liberal-minded, the conservatives that stick around generally get converted or driven out.

And the liberals on said liberal-minded forums argue with one another all the time.

Now, the real question is- will you believe me? I doubt it.

I have to give credit where credit is due . I was aware of VROOM bandied about a term called the Flat Head Society . I high Jacked the Society and transfixed Circle Jerk . So in essence it was a Vroom / Pitt invention

One thing that remains is the concept . IMO it denotes a Group of people that mentally stroke each other . They are more concerned with winning rather than expanding one’s perspective .

Beans kind of showed the mechanics of how it works in the Lincoln thread . Some one calls out Push for high Jacking the thread and Beans goes on the attack

I wasn’t even talking about conservatives liberals or anything. I used it in the sense of people agreeing with one another who had not even READ the discussion. Which one of them already admitted they hadn’t even read.

I really don’t mind if someone criticizes my thoughts and writing, but if someone does it would be nice if they actually had read my thoughts and writing before telling me how stupid I am.

That’s what I meant by circle jerk in that thread…a bunch of people saying I agree when they hadn’t even read what they agreed about. That much was blatantly obvious by their replies.

And I’ll be honest, Push doesn’t read much of what other people write and never had. Doesn’t stop him from interjecting his thoughts into random parts of threads, but reading and listening to someone else just isn’t a strong suit. Again…lack of maturity.

There is some really good debate that goes on in these forums. And I learn a lot from people on both sides of the equation when I have time to stop in and read. I just skip over the mudslinging and bullying. Wish I were a better debater myself.

Honestly, though, it does surprise me that anyone can get much beyond their 20s and think that they know it all or have more valid life experiences than anyone else. And what a boring world it would be if we all thought alike and made the same life choices anyway.

Honestly, Harold, this thread is not about you.

Long before you showed up with frequency Fighting Irish and others were using the term.
Wow, the trolling can’t stop. I thought you may do something crazy like admit you’re wrong and have been immature, but nah, that ain’t the Push way. Double down on the lunacy, just don’t man up and admit a mistake.

Doesn’t this pretty much apply universally to all groups?

I thought it was because he was extending an invitation.

Here’s something PUSH actually said in Pale Blue Dot:
I have dealt with this by placing MattyG (and Zecarlos several weeks ago) on Ignore because they NEVER deal with “tense” topics except with simple ridicule. I really don’t know why I haven’t done it with Belly Flop to be honest. He is probably the emir of the hyenas but his stuff is so over the top it’s actually somewhat entertaining, I guess.

And now we see what the net effect of personal insults and “debate style critiques” actually is: the derailment of a perfectly good thread (it is to be expected though – that’s just the way it goes).
Here is how he follows it up. And note the usual Push tactic of being “above” everyone. It’s how his immaturity deflects and trys to make someone seem unimportant (see how often he uses Harold or says you’re not a big part of this (ironic when you created the thread with my fake troll name in it).

The readers of this forum have gotten plenty from me over the years. Vastly more than we’ve ever got from you or ever will.
Then skedaddle.

Hit the dusty trail.

Show me how to do it, HyenaFactor. Give me YOUR evidence. Lay it out.

Not that what I fully expect would be a feeble effort from you will cause me to engage in an evidence exchange program, but now that you’ve joined the pack with your taunts let’s see what you can do.
Honestly anyone could find a million examples of Push contradicting himself left and right.

Despite what his fanboys and apologists claim, Pussharder isn’t that intelligent. He’s also afraid of me which is strange since I’m such a nice guy.

I said this to you in PBD thread Push and you said fair enough.
Actually Push if you were honest with yourself you’d see that you not only started the personal attacks like zecarlo showed, but you continuously brought them on.

It’s one thing to return fire, it’s another to shoot at everyone first and then say “hey I’m just defending myself” when they fire back.

Again, it isn’t exactly life and death this PWI forum and I’ll be the first to admit that I have been out of line numerous times towards the beginning of my posting career. One day I sorta realized that was just a stupid way to go about things on here. So I stopped for the most part.

I don’t mind changing anything. I’m not convinced I’m right on everything nor do I attempt to be. I’m trying to learn stuff by reading on here sometimes and participating. I present my side on how I feel on a lot of stuff and I contradict myself sometimes. I get that, my thoughts and ideas are constantly changing anyways based on the arguments I read.

You know complaining about personal attacks is you calling the kettle black man.
You need to grow up. You were called out a bunch and you acknowledged to an extent that you deserved being called out. It’s time for you (for once) to practice what you preach every once in a while. It’s time for you to mature and learn something. I have no desire to see this forum trolled left and right by someone like you who is at least intelligent enough to do better. Right now I’m just not convinced your man enough to admit error and attempt to improve on something. Your pride is insanely difficult for you to swallow. So you deflect everything to make yourself seem like a big smart man.

You aren’t fooling anyone. It’s ok to back down from your persona on here from time to time.

He’s also ironically a Christian. Yet another contradiction of his.

Honestly I’m not sure he isn’t one giant joke troll on here with thousands of posts. Maybe at one point he tried to contribute meaningful discussion to PWI, but he has definitely stopped for a while. He’s bordering on C-Dog level trolling lately.

And doesn’t it seem ironic coming from someone with the most unexpanded perspective on T-N?
I’d give that honor to our resident DaReal Newz reporter.

Could be, and one of the reasons he put me on ignore is that my jokes were better. Trolls hate one-upmanship. You can see that by how cdog whines whenever I comment on one of his threads.

I can only speak for this board because I do not have any more time to waste but The So called conservatives have a Union of sorts . They fight other people’s fights they gang up and just generally over run any so called liberal .

The so called liberals all pretty much stand alone , they fight their own battles
pushharder wrote:

Push your jig is up. You got called out yet again and here you are attempting to deflect when the truth has stared you in the eye from multiple people.

A man would step up and own his words and behavior. You say shit like relax all the time after people call you out. You know why you do that? (Of course you do). So people will stop hammering you on points.

You made this SPECIFICALLY because of what I said AND put my name in the thread. This is an absolute waste of forum space and has nothing to do with politics or world issues.

In essence it’s one thing to troll threads like you do and here you created one.

It’s not about you and I, you’re right. It’s about YOU and your lack of maturity and consistency. Just like C-dog couldn’t change I question if you can. Because I think you like your faux persona on here. I think you like this fake above the fray casual insult throwing thing you have going on here. Dialogue is not something your into. And it is precisely why most of the forum called you out in your own thread. And you’re getting called out again here. Because you can’t quit trolling.

Honestly it’s sad man.
