Nah, I don’t think so. Conservatives, as you mentioned, may accuse liberals of being brainwashed and stupid (they usually are, mind you - HA!) but they don’t consistently fall back to that position when the going gets tough.
You need to get out more.

I’ve seen pretty much all conservatives here disagree with each other quite a few times over the years and like I said, I for one have absolutely disagreed with every single regular poster on this forum at one time or another. So the circle jerk caricature really doesn’t exist.
I don’t think you can take this particular subforum to be representative of anything outside of what happens in this particular subforum.

I do think the scale tips right, generally speaking, but I honestly believe that’s because there are some fairly rational participants here and it’s just plumb easier, and more rational, to argue politics, world affairs and religion from a right leaning perspective.
It has to tough being a liberal/progressive and try to present valid opinions that can withstand scrutiny. Seriously. The ones who’ve tried it – I mean in depth and not the drive-by, pot shot artists – usually do end up shifting to the right over the years. I don’t necessarily think it’s because the conservative posters are such magnificent conveyors of thought but rather their ideals are so much more explicable by their very nature.
My observations anyway. Do with them what you will.

And when I go to forums that are demonstrably liberal-minded, the conservatives that stick around generally get converted or driven out.
And the liberals on said liberal-minded forums argue with one another all the time.
Now, the real question is- will you believe me? I doubt it.
