Cigars?

Monte Cristo here.

Started out for the style, not the taste.

Now I have one to celebrate any great accomplishment.

I enjoy a good cigar a couple of times a week. I never smoked cigarettes though and find them pretty disgusting myself but if others want to smoke then it’s ok with me.
A good Cohiba is my favorite. Punch, Monte Cristo or a Romeo and Julliet is never bad either.
Since I live on the other side of the pond we have no problem with Cubans.
However I have lately seen some good Domenicans around that cost much less.
Smoking a cigar doesn’t make one a man but it doesn’t make you less of a man either.
It’s all about enjoying the good things in life and personal choice…I hate people that live in absolutes.

Never drink
Never smoke
Never use gear.
Never eat a pizza
Never live.

Bullshit. Stop telling people how to live their lives.

That’s what the government is for.
I agree.

9 months ago now I quit smoking 1 1/2 to two packs a day. After months cold turkey I can now trust myself to enjpoy a cigar hell even a few time a week. That and a Guiness or a nice Bourban.Still havent had a cigarette so its all good.

Thats a far cry from the cartons of smokes, bottle upon bottle of whikey and beer I used to have. I regret none of it though, had some good times and some memories the ones I remember.

Hell I liked to smoke and get tore up. Just grew up, moved on, and now other things are more important.

I dont have a problem though with people who do smoke. or people who do drink, or even with fatbastards at McDonalds or hell even crack heads. If you want it fine its your life just dont push it on me or bitch about it.

Dont do it then Cry about how society is making you fat, or whine that you cxant quit smopking and ita killing you. BS its your choice every choice no matter what has its positive and negative aspects Acceot them you spinlees rat. LOL

Same with others if they have a problem with me eating clean, or having a cigar and a drink every now and again. thats there problem not mine. Hell i might even get further joy out of seeing how damn upset you get over some little trivial thing I do. Thanks for the entertainment.

Relax every once and again. let go a bit,

Thats my take, do what makes YOU happy and Give a shit what I or anyone else thinks about it. As long as you arent pushing something on me it all good.

Oh forgot a Good CAO, the are nice smooth and mild. also agree on the Chohibas and had a nice Cuban a couple times.

Was down south about 7-8 months ago, and picked up some ‘presents’ for myself. Enjoyed the Romeo y Julietta, haven’t tried the Cohiba Siglo IV’s or Punch Tubos yet.

Tried an A. Fuente over here, don’t remember what type. Didn’t like it, too harsh for my taste.

As far as ‘legal’ stuff, I prefer the American Cohibas or Romeo y Juliettas, as wella s the occasional Punch. My wife bought me a gift box of cheaper cigars last Christmas. They were pretty smooth, but I can’t remember what brand they were. I’ve got some in my humidor in Kuwait.

Sadly, I am not kidding about the new law. I read it in CIGAR magazine’s Spring 2005 issue, page 16. Briefly –

“The Treasury Department’s notice also said US citizens and perminent residents are not allowed to purchase Cuban goods for personal use in another country outside the US. Violation of the new rules could lead to criminal penalties including fines of up to $1 million for corporations and $250,000 for individuals, plus up to ten years in prision.”

Wow. Good luck enforcing that one, though.

My favorites…padron 1926 anniversarios, maduro and tasty strong.
Cuban partagas series P no.2

Cuban Montecristo maduro
For the money Sancho Panza extra fuerte
punch Series r
Cao Criollo
I could be here all day!

I smoke at least six per week in the winter and come spring and summer I smoke at least a box per week.

There is an A. Fuente that is made with a darker leaf and i didn’t like it that much. But I found the Chateaux Fuente or Royale Salute is not harsh and are complimented quite well while drinking Port.

You gotta watch out for the conterfeit cubans. I remember I used to be in the cigar threads on another site a lot and they talked about it often. They were saying if someone ever comes up to you in a foreign country offering cubans for sale, they’re probably not real cubans.

Check the ash is what I’m told. Cubans burn a dark grey ash, and if its white you’ve been taken.

I had a cuban once. It was the harshest thing I had ever smoked and I had to sit down. It was a lousey one, it should would be nice to get my hands on a decent one. Oh well…
yes I was fooled about 3 times in my earlier days before I finally stopped buying cubans from “strangers.”

now I have a source that I can get real ones.

now life is good.

PAM 1926?? Wow, I’ve never even seen one of those, only heard great things about them. Also the partagas that you mentioned too, wow. I guess I’m surprised about the cao criollo. I’ve never had it but never heard good things about them except the box they came in!

Nice.

Anybody else have some good pics of people smoking some stogs?
