Christmas Playlist

A song with a beautiful message from Annie Lennox

A little country Christmas from my childhood. Yes, I still like Dolly Parton. Christmas is a time for crossing over some musical genres, people!

I have no use for Christmas music, especially when real artists try and make “cool” and “rockin” Christmas carols.

That being said, there is only one that I ever care to hear, and it’s cause only a mick could make a Christmas song the saddest, most beautiful song in history.

And, as the top comment says, “The Irish: The only people who can get away with putting “You scumbag you maggot you cheat lousy faggot” in a Christmas song…”

^Irish, I like that one too and I’d never heard it until Krebcycle mentioned it. Awesome, and interesting to see what’s big in other places. I LOVE Christmas music. It’s the only time of the year I’ll listen to some genres like R&B. Christmas albums are really hit and miss. I like James Taylor, but his Christmas album is AWFUL, and I have a no-name Caribbean Christmas one from Target that is surprisingly wonderful.

About Christmas, I don’t like all the shopping, Amazon everything I can! And we try to keep it simple. I do love the food, family, and friends part. And the little white lights on everything. And the kitschy decor that people put up, too. And I love getting Christmas cards from old friends. And making something fancy for Christmas breakfast. And fires in the fireplace. And spending some quiet time in Luke…And the music…You get the idea. Not a grinch!

^This picture of Irish’s house makes me want to break out the eggnog. YAY!

Can’t believe nobody had put Trans-Siberian Orchestra in here yet?

Broncoandy - LOL! Spinal Tap Christmas WIN! I thought I was going to fall out of my chair. So funny.

Frisk - I have completely underestimated the number of profane or obscene Christmas songs out there. There are a lot of people trying to get on the naughty list this year. I thought that Grandma getting ran over by a reindeer might be the low point for this thread.
