One of my favorite video games as a kid was “U.N. Squadron” for the Super Nintendo. One of the missiles in the game that you can use are called Bullups. I misread that as “Bullpup” for years. I needed a new screen name for AOL and used that, and added “BF”, which doesn’t really mean anything, because got the notion in my head that “Bullpup” would sound cooler if it had two random letters next to it.
I’ve been using that SN for almost a decade now, so it was an easy decision to use it when I used it as my T-Mag login name, before T-Nation was born. Oh, after I created that name, I found the correct spelling. Eh, I like it all the same.

I’m about half Norwegian, and very proud of it. Don’t know why – I lost my grandparents at an early age, and never learned the language, which really bummed me out. However, I think it has to do with the fact that I’m 5’10’’ and large framed… I have HUGE feet… so I kinda “look Scandinavian.” I used to swim competitively, and my team nickname was was “Helga”.
However, that name was already taken.
