I’m TOTALLY guessing here, but is it because that’s how most of them get into the U.S.? Although as of late I have seen news reports that they (Canadian law enforcement) are doing quite a good job of catching them (terrorists.) -Aaron

Out of all of the accused 9/11 hijackers, all but two were in the United States on legitimate student and work visas. They were living there for quite some time.

The other two stopped over in Halifax on their way to America from the middle-east.

So no. They didn’t come in through Canada.

Because THAT MAKES SENSE!

And if you don’t understand that reasoning, you’re obviously a fucking MORON!

AND you HATE AMERICA!

That makes sense?

I believe in a higher power, but come on man, are you fucking retarded? God will stop us from ruining this earth?

He created this planet to be perfect? Then why is it so fucked up? Have you ever seen someone killed in front of you? HUH?

I think god should let us fuck this planet up and wipe eachother out, so he/she can put a new race of beings on here, because us as humans are pretty much fucked.[/quote]

Oh yeah I remember that place, thats where the rockets were being fired from into israel, but oh well they were just protesting.

Yeah and in Vietnam the Vietnamese would cut the testicles off of American troops and shove them in their mouth. I would bet my right arm that you think that the Vietnamese were defending their land. No the tactics used were extreme but it has alot to do with psychological warfare, it’s disgusting and I think it’s wrong, but muslims aren’t new to this sort of warfare either. Who started the raping and torturing first?? Who knows, but it has been done on both sides.

But you can support a country that funds terrorist groups and supports martyrdome and genocide???

I love the ones that are not the extremists. I have a good friend who is muslim, one of the coolest guys I know. I have no problem with muslims, I do however have a problem with extremest. Not just the muslim extremest but Christians as well, and I am christian. Those Christians that kill gays and murder in the sake of God make me sick. I don’t specifically dislike muslims, but there are a hell of alot more extremist muslims than any other religion.

So that makes it okay??? I can’t believe you would defend that logic even if it is all they have left. Thats disgusting and evil.

google “military-industrial complex”

The term military-industrial complex (MIC) usually refers to the combination of the U.S. armed forces, arms industry and associated political and commercial interests, which grew rapidly in scale and influence in the wake of World War II. The term may also be used for militarism, in reference to any such business partnership between industry and military.

As pejorative terms, the “MIC” or the “Iron Triangle” refer to an institutionalised collusion among defense contractors (industry), The Pentagon (military), and the United States government (Congress, Executive branch), as being against the public interest, and driven by profiteering.

That was after Korea, and right before Viet Nam. He was right.

I don’t believe the war on terror is driven buy the MIC. However i find it odd that you would chastize me for looking back, and then pull up a speech from 44 years ago.

Does that mean history is only to be used by you?

Sorry - I don’t play that way.

Now - try again without the dripping hypocrisy.

Of course this war is driven by the MIC! Infact I’d assume every war after WWII was driven by the iron triangle. Are you MAD?!

2004 Jan 7 The head of the Army Corps of Engineers waived federal contracting requirements for Halliburton’s operations in Iraq that would have required the company to submit cost and pricing information on its gasoline imports even though Halliburton was recently accused of overcharging the government $61 million for gasoline.?

2003 Total U.S. military spending the Bush Administration projects it will have spent by the end of 2008: $3,200,000,000,000?

AlbertaBeef:

  1. Admit that you’re an anti-Semite.

  2. Proffer a plausbile motive as to why Israeli forces would show up a bona fide peaceful rally and shoot 47 Muslims.*

*Before you answer this second query, hesitate a moment to take into consideration that Israel–unlike any of the Arab countries that surround it–has (1) a thriving economy with technologically advanced industries and (2) nuclear weapons.

All respect for the dead, but why should those 2000 deathes be more significant then all the “collateral damage” the American government is responsible for.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Cosgrove.

Our governments main responsibility is to maintain a strong military. This costs money.

I find it laughable that you consider Halliburton’s role in the GWOT as part of the MIC. They clean up the mess - they don’t make any money on the guns or the bullets used.

Are you suggesting that Cheney got Bush to go to war just so Halliburton could make some money on cleaning it up?

Who’s mad again?

Never mind - I’ve seen some of your other posts in the political threads. I should have known.

There’s so much about this post that is wrong I don’t why I’m bothering, but here goes…

  1. Muslim, does not = terrorist. I know there are some terrorists who are Muslim, but your post makes sweeping statements which are ignorant in the extreme.

  2. Have you ever stopped to wonder why some Muslims are inspired to carry out acts like this? And no, it’s not the lure of 7 virgins. Historically persecuted peoples look to extreme means of resolving their plight. Look at the rise of the Nazi’s, or the rise of Millenarian belief in early Christian societies - extreme hardship gives rise to extreme idealogies.

  3. Your posts spout a lot of supposedly Christian values, yet at the same time you show absolutely zero tolerance for one of the worlds largest religions. Isn’t ‘love thy neighbour’ a quote from the bible?

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!! I fucking HATE this shit! Criticise Israel and immediately you are an anti-semite. Well, actually I have several Jewish friends, who are as embarrassed and disgusted by the actions of Israel as I am. Are they anti-semitic too? Israel is truely the biggest bully boy on the planet.

I have been coming on this site for the last 2 years but never felt the need to register. But after reading this thread i thought it is about time i did.

Most of you will know that i’m in the Marines by my username. I have been serving for 7 years. I have been to both Iraq and Afganistan and i have served my country proud. I love my country and i’m feel honoured to be in the position i am in. I’m a native of NY City and i love my home.

9/11 and a huge impact on my life, i lost childhood friends, both were firefighters doing their jobs.

Now it doesnt seem like i’m going to be making to many friends by saying this but Alberta Beef is correct in what he is saying, but you guys seem so caught up in emmotion that you arent actually seeing what he is trying to put across.

9/11 will never be forgotten but we need to let the pain of 9/11 go. Its funny cause i have read loads of peoples comments on here and you arent even from NYC, you were hundreds of miles away. Yet its seems us here in NY have pulled together and come through this and it happened in our backyard. Granted it was a national travesty, but us as american should pull through this.

There is no need for videos like this, for those of you who really need to remember then remember in your own way, but its time to move on. 9/11 will be with us, but the hurt and the suffering caused by it needs to be left behind.

If you read all of my other posts you would see that I was referring to the extremists. I believe I mentioned that in another post. I even mentioned that I do not like Christian extremists either. Please read my other posts before you judge me. I said that I have friends that are muslims and I love the muslims that are not extremists and feel the need to kill all the time. I am not generalizing all muslims, let me make that clear. I have plenty of religious tolerance, it’s the targeting of innocent lives I have no tolerance for.

Interesting that the post wasn’t addressed to you, yet you felt obliged (guilty?) to step in and proclaim that you are not an anti-Semite.

There is no denying that anti-Semitism is on the rise throughout the globe. Burned down synagogues throughout Europe, statements made by foreign leaders (like Iran’s president), unconscionable statements by prominent figures in the media (e.g., Mel Gibson), and widespread, unwarranted criticism of Israel.

I don’t equate ALL criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism. However, when someone simply repeats dogma and makes up outlandish accusations (such as the claim that Israeli soldiers rape Muslim women), then they are no doubt an anti-Semite.

You are welcomed to be embarrassed by Israel. They aren’t doing what they are doing for pissants like yourself, nor for those Jews who haven’t a spine. Israel is simply trying to protect itself from a menace that has been attempting to destroy Israel one way or another for decades. They don’t give a shit what some ill-informed bloke thinks about them. And THAT is the only reason why Israel still exists at all.

I should also note that you, as an Englishman, are estopped from calling another country a bully when islands acorss the globe and thousands of miles from the UK are still owned by your country. I love England and in general I think its people are marvelous, but “England” was synomous with “imperialism” for centuries. You can’t even compare sending troops into southern Lebanon with the sort of bullying propogated by your country.

Since the wars against Israel when Israel captured Gaza and the West Bank, Israel has done nothing but slowly turn more and more land over to Palestinians and Arab states. Hardly the actions of a “bully.” Why don’t you ask why the Arab countries that surround Israel have kept Palestinians in refugee camps TO THIS DAY, almost 50 years after they were displaced during regional conflicts in which Israel defended itself.

Those are the details that are so easily forgotten by individuals like yourself and “Alberta Beef” who’ve bought hook, line, and sinker into the bullshit that your media have spread to keep the militant Muslims in your ghettos fat and happy.

Unfortunately, it is currently very popular to criticise the U.S. and Israel. While the rest of the world, namely Europe, are busy talking to Iran, Israeli troops are on the ground fighting, for all intents and purposes, Iranian mercenaries. Sadly, all Europe knows how to do is talk, talk, talk. Never act until the Germans are practically strolling down the Champs-Elysees and carpet-bombing London.
