Well, let’s see their recent fuck up imports included:

Melamine contaminants in their milk powder, lead paint on children toys, cadmium in children’s jewelry,
contaminated Dog Food, and now Chicken…What can POSSIBLY go Wrong??

Meh, I can’t imagine the shitty logistic scenario where the option ‘Grow it in the U.S., slaughtered it in an approved country, then ship it to China and back to have it wrapped in plastic.’ makes sense, but I’m sure there are probably desperate poultry producers out there. Also, I can’t imagine how the Chinese could fuck up wrapping things in plastic (or at least fuck it up worse than the countries that already do it do), but this is only modestly disconcerting.

IMO, the more disconcerting part is that the Administration (and their rivals) talk tough on China and then preside over token gestures like this one.

Any article that discusses slaughter and processing of chickens and uses the term bird flu but ignores salmonella or Typhoid is pretty obviously sensationalist and biased. Bird flu hasn’t killed, in total, the number of people salmonella kills in a year. Hell, more people die of tylenol yearly than bird flu has killed total. I’d be just as worried about the Chinese wrapping it in plastic (I’m sure it’s probably produced there).
