I live in Chicago about 10 minitues from Wrigley, if you have never been there go, but, if you have easy access to it you either love it or hate it. For those of you that dont live in Chicago the Sox vs Cubs rivalry is huge, i love the White Sox, I think Wrigley Field is a rundown piece of shit. The people that go to those games are not even real fans, people in the stands cant give me a starting lineup. There are way more Wrigley field fans than actual cubs fans. Wrigley field is a large beer garden. Its also in the middle of a neighborhood that has like 100 bars. You drink before the game, you drink during, you drink after. People go for the experience not baseball. Go Sox.
Well, it would help if Lou stopped changing the line up. Theriot was doing great as the lead-off guy. Soriano…eh…we can get rid of him. Having Lee and Ramirez always batting third and fourth and whoever the catcher is, either Soto or Hill bat 8th, leaves very little room to play with. I think Soriano always bats second, unless he’s having a slump. Castro bats…wherever Lou puts him. The 6th and 7th spots always rotate depending on who is actually hitting and helping the team or not.
Castro is awesome, he’s young and athletic and could possibly turn into an awesome ballplayer. Having said that, getting rid of DeRosa was stupid. It was nice having a three-headed second base/shortstop (Theriot/Fontenot/DeRosa). And if DeRosa was needed to play center or right or left or third base, he was always up for it.
Someone understands. Getting rid of DeRosa for Aaron Miles cost the Cubs any chance in 2009 as did Kerry Wood for Kevin Gregg (who is now tearing it up in Toronto). What I don’t get is Lou changing the line-up the day after they scored 12 runs. Until Ramirez comes back it should go: Theriot, Colvin, Byrd, Lee, Soto, Soriano, Baker/Fontenot/Tracey, Castro. If they don’t score 20 runs give them another chance.
