Cheerleader Gets Flu Shot ...

Did my H1N1 shot last week and had no problems what so ever…

According to that description, they’re almost counting everyone dying in hospitals. It is very vague, and doesn’t always include that a staff member did something wrong. Whether to say if a malpractice occured or not, it is another story. Basically, they’re making the problem look worse than it really is, basic sensationalism.

btw, that isn’t the JAMA report itself. that is only paraphrasing it. you can read the report on pubmed.

but figures like these have been out for years.

edit: they are not “…almost counting everyone dying in hospitals” as you said:

these are Iatrogenic deaths…deaths from physicians/the medical process itself (which include):

Infection deaths (80,000 per year) such as: …going into the hospital for vertigo, and dying from a Staph infection from the otoscope tip that wasn’t changed.

Fatal drug errors such as: …instead of getting beta blockers for your aaa, they accidentally gave you ritalin which made it explode (pardon the humor).

but the scariest one in my opinion?

the “non-error” medication deaths
(adverse reactions to proper meds)-

this means:
correct diagnosis.
correct medication.
correct dosage…

…which results in 106,000 deaths from the proper medication in just that ONE YEAR

and these deaths are NOT from the diseases; they are from the medications.

Wow…

I’m really surprised that there are no posts in response to this…

(although, I did say earlier that I didn’t want to debate about vaccines for days upon days)

…but this is a landmark study about iatrogenic/physician deaths…from the “Journal of the American Medical Association” itself- not Time magazine or Oprah…

so, hundreds of thousands of medical deaths EVERY year…right?

Yeah, but unfortunately, we’ll still have the douchebags in our class keeping us down…

It’s a sad situation…Hopefully all the '09 trolls and douches won’t survive the winter.
