…just finished watching it, and found it a very entertaining movie. Good story, good acting, it’s funny and honest [for a movie] but it also acts as a prelude to how currents events were ‘allowed’ to unfold. Anyone else seen it yet?

I’ve not seen it, but I have read the book it’s based on. The book is definitely recommended reading.
This book is good for a sense of how lawless Afghanistan can be: Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001 by Steve Coll.
The book is excellent, amazing that it’s a true story. I’m not gonna bother watching the movie, it looks mediocre.
