I agree with you 100%. I was begining to think I was the only one who thought this.
The Hollywood culture to me is like a vile putrid stream of self-glorification and self-worship, in that they’re really making a difference in the world.
Setting themselves upon their mighty glass thrones, they try to persuade others that they have all the answers to the world problems.
I can give credit where credit is due…i.e. various benefits. However, once this has been accomplished, they feel as though the world owes them for their compassion, while bashing those who are also providing assistance to the various needs throughout the world.
As though they and they alone know how to do the right thing.
I can’t hate Tom Cruise because he, Craig T Nelson, Christopher Penn and Lea Thompsons boobs gave me all the inspiration I needed to be a football player.

Emperial’s post rings true…many celebrities (or wannabe’s in the case of “Models” do have such an odd sense of self and the world. How can you not think that watching them is a waste of time??
I recently attended a Jackie Chan function in my town, my uncle is the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce which is involved in this, and what it is is that Jackie Chan has voluntarily founded in his name and utilizing his celebrity status, a charitable foundation for impoverished children around the world, called “The Jackie Chan Foundation”. He donates portions of his earnings to his own foundation. His earnings are derived from his movies, fan club, public appearances, etc… Jackie spoke of how much more important it is to take care of each other, and importantly, children living in poverty.
Anyway, I’m not trying to plug his foundation, but only to say that I love Jackie Chan too because he knows what it’s about, and I can see how other celebrities who are out of control and way too materialistic and totally out for themselves are really and truly cluless and could be doing better things with their fame and fortune beside throwing money away on their looks only, getting multiple unnecessary plastic surgeries, throwing tantrums and acting like divas, erecting shrines in tribute to themeselves, etc…
