Cat- The Other White Meat! LOL![/i]
Celebrity chef Beppe Bigazzi upsets viewers with his cat casserole
A top Italian food writer has been suspended indefinitely from the countryâ??s version of the television programme Ready Steady Cook for recommending stewed cat to viewers as a â??succulent dishâ??.
…
â??Iâ??ve eaten it myself and itâ??s a lot better than many other animals,â?? he told viewers. â??Better than chicken, rabbit or pigeon.â?? He said that for optimum flavour the meat should be â??soaked in spring water for three daysâ?? before being stewed.

I live in a somewhat rural setting and there is a slacker that mans the register at the gas-n-sip. Once while I was paying for my gas, he told me that the stray tom cat that he had been feeding would not let him pet it, so he “was gonna’ get that food back”. I should have put my cash in my pocket and left, but I took the bait and asked him how he was going to do that.
He look at me with a straight face and said, “I’m gonna eat that motherfucker”. Saw him about a week later and asked how the cat was and he responded that it was some of the best meat he had ever had - “full of silky fat”. Now many of my friends refer to him as the “cat eater”.
Reportedly Beppe now says that he was merely recollecting wartime days when people had (?) to resort to eating cats, but whether he has gone senile enough that this is a sensible explanation or is just an excuse, I cannot tell.
In China there are restaurants that specialize in cat. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten it, although I had some meat that I wasn’t exactly certain what it was other than meat. You get what you pay for in slop houses.
