Yep.

Or who believe cars are appliances like stove and dishwashers.

Man, I didn’t used to even think those people actually existed. A few years ago, the owner of the company I was working for decided to start stepping back from the business and having his kids take over. This family owns half the town, all very well off. Old man owns a few mercedes. One son comes in in a different porche every day, etc… Real nice, high end stuff…and than the last one shows up,and he drives a fucking rust bucket PONTIAC VIBE. He used to get such a hard time from everybody. Between ownership, and employees we had a parking lot full of Mercedes, Porche, Harley Davidson, hot rods, custom pickups, you name it… and he parks a fucking Pontiac Vibe out there. Was the goofiest thing I ever saw.

I don’t think it was any coincidence he was an accountant.
If i owned a company, im showing up everyday in a beater.

Almost everyone i know views cars the same way i view a toaster, which is annoying as hell.

I met some guy in the parking lot at the gym that I workout at who owned a 2014 Corvett. After I told him that I loved his car he asked me if I wanted to drive it! How could I resist? Best time I EVER had behind the wheel.

Two years ago I bought this car:

2013 Ford Mustang California Special
5.0 Liter, 420 HP, 390 Ft â?? Lbs torque, 3.73 gear ratio
Deep Impact Blue with glass roof option

This is a front view of my car

Well you showed me yours, so I will show you mine… '13 Brembo Brake package with Recaro seats.

Your’s is a California Special, mine is the anti-California special. This is my favorite feature on the car. Now I have researched high and low, inside and out and I cannot find the difference between my car and California Emissions compliant cars, but mine is not California friendly. I even called Ford’s Tech support to find out the difference, I went through the emissions component parts to see if I can identify a difference so I can find one and I cannot identify what the difference is. Hopefully it means my car is a little faster :).

I hope you had a chance to peruse the first couple of pages of this thread. I put a bunch of cars there with explanations about what makes them kick-ass, awesome cars. If you haven’t I recommend giving it a browse.

Man, there are actually some cool things being done with hybrids at the top end (i.e. cars that most of us will never own).

Not American cars, but LaFerrari is a hybrid, and i seem to recall there is a fully electric Mercedes SLS AMG with over 700 hp divided between 4 motors (one at each wheel for the ultimate 4 wheel drive handling). And of course the Tesla which is American, not insanely priced, and has it’s own thread here.

I too am not a fan of minivans (although I do enjoy a good sleeper van / station wagon / etc…). And I do believe that the Corolas / Civics / etc… of the world are cars for people who don’t like cars.
Your right of course. My hatred for them is irrational. I don’t even like hybrid power trains in super cars. It’s totally irrational, like I said. I am just a huge fan of internal combustion. I don’t have a good argument to support it, it’s just what I like.

I don’t know about cars but all these emissions regulations completely fuck things up for certain performance motorcycles. I had a Husqvarna supermotard and when it came from the shop stock it had a catalytic converter and all this fibreglass and shit in the muffler and the engine was really badly tuned. What happened was the engine was starved of oxygen because the fuel to air ratio(stoichiometric) was way too lean. So much so that the fucking headers glowed bright orange. The stock muffler went in the bin and I put a straight through on then pulled out the oxygen sensor and chucked it away, retuned, put in a performance power chip that controls the fuel injection and the problem was solved. Amazing ride. But it was technically not road worthy because it didn’t meet regulations. I don’t know if it’s a similar story with cars but my bike stock was literally unridable stock. Total shit. It even stalked all the time too.

This is a bracket I made up to hold the clutch master and locate the brake master.

Could be a number of things. Fuel maps, cooling fan activation temp, est. Or it can be simply testing related. It can mean that they just didn’t go through the certification process on yours.

Correct. Also I am thinking it may have only to do with the gas cap or lack there of. My fuel door doubles as the gas cap, I am wondering if Glittergirl’s has an actual gas cap, or is like mine.
I would like to know, nobody, I mean nobody knows what the difference is. I have looked far and wide. Like I said even called Ford and they didn’t know.

I’m starting to think all that extra money for the BMW M4 is worth it. The Mustang GT Performance Pack that comes out at the end of the year is going to be so much cheaper and I’ve heard from people that have driven both and prefer the GT. I drove the M4 yesterday around the dealership and I really like the dual clutch but the manual transmission in the GT sounds sweet.

And that high revving American V8 with the rear wheel suspension and all the fancy stuff sounds great. I like the recaro seats too and might go for a racing harness instead of a seatbelt. Seatbelts can break your sternum or shoulder blade easy as I found out. But yes, it’s hard to justify all that extra money for the M4.

I can’t test drive the GT till it comes out at the end of the year though. I hate having to wait for these sorts of things. Gives me more time to make up my mind though. I probably should wait till the end of the year to test drive the GT before making a decision as to which to get. It’s just I’ve always had a thing about BMWs as I’ve driven a lot and found them to be to my liking. And the new M3/M4 really kicks.

I love the aggressive up shifts on the dual clutch and all the torque across the power berm. I didn’t get to try it properly but you can give a little oversteer then countersteer and throttle going into a corner and feel the back end start to drift like a rear wheel muscle car but more controllable. Like this…

That’s the other thing about the Mustang GT. I just don’t think it’s in the same class despite what people say who’ve driven them both. They’re really a very different class of vehicle and the M4 is more to my liking I think. I’ll have to wait till I test drive the Mustang GT to be sure.

Did you get the manual pat? Surely you did right?

The new cts v sedan is pretty american bad ass cool

Doesn’t that only come in auto? Sorry, but if it’s not a manual or a sweet dual clutch gearbox then it’s not a proper car.
