Canadian Intolerance,Unacceptable

And they accuse Americans of being intolerent, sheesh. This is just pure, unadulterated, discrimination!

I laughed pretty hard when I first read about this.

Hysterical.

It sure has cut down on the number of public stonings going on.

We used to have about 0 of them every year. Now we have 0 every day!

IMMIGRANTS who want to live in the small Canadian town of Herouxville, Quebec, must not stone women to death in public, burn them alive or throw acid on them, according to an extraordinary set of rules released by the local council.

What?! Where’s the respect for multiculturalism in that?

Oh, and I notice there’s no rule against stoning men to death, sounds like blatant sexism too.

From the fact that they (the townspeople or even just their representatives) actually live in a Monty Python sketch to the fact that it only further confirms many of the stereotypes about Canadians makes it just way too funny.

It’s too bad you can’t see the live interview, in French (well, ‘Joual’) with the town’s representative, explaining that he’s aware of existing Canadian laws against murder, but that we need to word it “so that those people understand it; because that’s what they do at home…”

I wonder if the story about the cop who’s written a song inviting immigrant to “go home” will also make it as international news.

You guys know we have equally retarded laws (in a way in which they should go without saying) in America right?

IE: There is a 500$ fine for anyone who sets off a nuclear explosion within LA city limits (Or is it San Diego…).

Oh, and in Florida, it’s illegal to shower or bathe naked. Private or public!

Sometimes, retarded laws get passed that politicians simply don’t bother to ever repeal, because they’re so ridiculous.

If he is actually singing a song, nicely asking them to “go home” that would probably be the most polite display of xenophobia ever…

May I ask what a Canadian riot looks like?

Please post a link if you can…

It sure beats shooting them on their wedding day.

Hmmm. We don’t get those very often. Tune in if Montreal ever manages to win another Stanley Cup.

To the song? Here: http://www.humourqc.com/ The link is on the first page, it’s called “ca commence a faire la”

BUT, you Little Camel Hosers!

You CAN beat the shit out of each other on the ice if you’d like, eh?

Mufasa

By the way…

What’s French for “Hoser?”

Actually, I was referring to the riots we had in the streets of Montreal the last time we won the Stanley Cup.

With any luck, it really was “The Last Time.”

With the way the Canadian press makes head-cases out of any player unlucky enough to end up in Ontario or Quebec, it probably will be.

No direct translation, as far as I’m aware. I even had to look it up to see what it meant in the rest of Canada.

Why do people sign their posts when there name already appears just to the left?

pook:

It’s called ‘HABIT’ my friend!

Mufasa!!!

“Wikipedia” to the rescue!

Damn, I can’t stand the official criticism either, as if this type of thing sets back anything. All it does is show some folks to be a wee bit out of touch.

It eventually leads to this one Anti-Canadian sentiment - Wikipedia which is much more amusing.
