Me too, always actually. The trouble is, I can think about training anytime, it’s easy. Actually getting to train is the tricky bit. I have more ideas than training sessions.
17th November
Squat
5x55
5x62.5
21x72.5
Bench
5x35
5x40
16x45
Chins 3x5 BW
That’s it.
Attempt number 2… Felt like death warmed up for this on, hence no assistance work. Squats felt so awful but I was determined to get my 20 reps, then added another rep because.
Bench however I am very pleased with. A 2 rep PR despite warm up and first sets feeling like crap and almost losing the bar by misgroving a rep. They weren’t fast but worked what I wanted to work and no cheating.
7th November part 2
Assistance because I felt bad for being such a mancy.
Push ups (on handles, slow reps with a pause at bottom) / chin superset
15/14+1
14/8+3+3
12/8+3+1
10/6+4
So the superset push ups and Chins came from a Paul Carter article on elite fts. Should have been Dips but I don’t have bars and I wasn’t about to start changing the height of my rings each set. Basically, 4 sets, start with Dips and do AMRAP, then follow with Chins of the same number no matter how long it takes. It made me make the push ups harder so I didn’t have to do so many Chins, which was good for pushing strength I guess. Liked this, will try and repeat it sometime.
Was going to do some lunges but The Bake Off is starting and I want to watch Peter crash and burn haha.
Hows it going dude?
Hi dagill,
Been a bit absent from this log I know. Depression has bitten back recently, been in therapy and things were improving but took a bit of a nosedive. Anyway, still alive and kicking, just keeping off the forum for a bit as I was spending too long browsing and lurking and hating myself for it. I’ll get back to logging soon but I am still training in the meantime.
Hope all is well with you.
