hm. this makes me think of the Normandy scene from Saving Private Ryan, where the one guy gets blown in half and is screaming for his momma.

Makes me remember the time when I had a patient that was run over by a train. We amputated his hand and had it in a bedpan.

Not a coincidence. You know a stock boy was giggling as he set it up!

Out doing some target practice with my new G23 and got a nice view of the sunset on the lake.

holey moley that is gorgeous!!

How close are you to Lookout Mountain?

Not sure is you can see the photo well. But I took my mom to see “The Eagle” the other day and they had a poster for Prom Night with a little cut out thingy. Now my mom is about as tall as a garden gnome so it is a bit hard to see her face. Also, she does not have a moustache, that is her oxygen tube.

UH… 2 hours or so from Chattanooga.

And yes, I love where I live, that right there is my back yard.

Off topic- I was very disappointed in “The Eagle”. Way too much riding horses and running and not nearly enough combat IMO.

yes… way too much. It was good to see how the formations were effective against the tribes. It was a bit long on just running all over the place.

Oh beyond words I would love to have the uncle’s house!

Yeah the Uncle’s house was awesome. I was a little disappointed in how they failed to be historically accurate with certain parts of the movie.

SPOILERS********************

Examples:
Legionaries charging always launched javelins before closing for combat. When they charged out into the horde of tribesmen, they didn’t even have javelins.

Second-
they formed a testudo(turtle formation pretty much) for close combat. That formation was designed for advancing through arrow fire, not close combat. The sides AND legs of the legionaries are left open in that formation, making it a horrible choice for a massed charge.
