Some of my crew just started a job in Houston, HG. They beat out the storm here just barely. They just texted me and told me what a fabulous day it was in Houston. I may end up down that way 'fore too long to help finish the job.

Finally turning into winter here after the mildest, warmest, driest December and January I can remember in 32 years.

It’s 0 F now, the wind is blowing, and it’s been snowing for the last 48 hours non stop. Expecting 10 - 20" over the next few days.
Yeah man, sunny and warm. I saw 4 mallards off in the swamp too. I was looking for alligators but no luck. Baytown, right?

I can’t stand the cold, Push. Not acclimated I guess.

It’s nice here except June through early September. Then its a hot, muggy, humid hell and you’ll be convinced mosquitos are actual demons.

Yep, Baytown. I was there consulting on a project 5 or 6 years ago.
A documentary on industrial pollution and reproduction right? Baytown is pretty rough around the edges, very industrial. Downtown is a quick 20 minute shot though and you’ll be near the San Jacinto monument, a cool piece of Texas history. There is an old WW2 battleship you can tour near the monument too. I’m pretty sure it is still there.

Both would make great cell phone pics.

If you’re up for a beer shoot me a pm before you head down.

Swamp behind the bayou, it runs through the woods from ankle to roughly 4 feet deep with occassional islands. Great hunting but watch for gators, cotton mouths and snapping turtles.

Crawfish hole

Honestly HG I have no idea, I rarely go to Baytown, only time is if I am taking Safety or site managers out to lunch. Since I am not from Houston and only been here a couple years I am kind of a newbie

Well it would be a little further, roughly halfway to Anahuac. If you like history, a Saturday afternoon at the san jacinto monument would be cool. It was built to celebrate the Texas independence from Mexico and was intentionally made taller than the Washington Monument because, you know, everything is bigger in Texas.

The ship was really cool too but not too diff. than the one in Corpus probably.

I keep forgetting you are kinda new here.

Hit up Angus Grill yet?

Actually I have seen the monument on a trip to Dallas, impressive for sure.

Going here Saturday have reservations with the wife, Ortho Doc friend and his dentist wife.

With the holidays and our teenagers being fucking brain damaged we have not been able to make that trip.

This steak house looks a lot like Angus.

Yeah man, I’m excited for you. If you’re a red meat guy you may actually have a food porn orgasm.

And do not skip the cheese rolls.

Brazilian steak houses follow the same concept, as long as its a quality place it’ll be good.

I just stick to Angus and Fogo de Chau because they are closer to me.

There is a good one in montrose too, I forget the name. If you get hooked its fun to go to different ones and see their twists/house specialties.

Let me know how you like this one, I haven’t heard of it.

Some of the guys who work for me said it is just like Fogo and I choose the Clear lake one cause its about 10 minutes from my house and the Docs.

I normally eat 21 ounce Sirloin when I go out and salad. So this place was right up my alley.

At risk of crucifixion, I dare say the chicken is damn good too. And the genuine gulf shrimp of course.

These restaurants are my absolute fav. I nerd out on them.

^ Well the wife loves the shrimp and chicken so she will be in heaven herself.

I also will walk out that night with big belly.

I am on the wagon right now, so that is what is going to be very, very hard to avoid.

Beer and wine? I can’t help ya. I love a good merlot at these places. Grape soda?
