I sure pushed it today and almost made it to 4 miles, this is what I need to be cautious of though. It is supposed to be "non"impactic type thing and if I keep doing it this style than it will be hampering my recovering. Need to be cautious here.
I bought a pair of 1lbers and a friend got one 10lbers. But I have thought and I am going to make a 5lber with some pipe, pretty easy to make just need to buy the stuff for it. I love being “SUPPLE” Oh and Thanks for the terms of endearment, luv ya too ~ mmmmwah
About this time I realized I was in charge of waking up my son to get ready for school, time to shut down the cave and get to the house and wake the boy up. So I woke up the boy & continued my workout in the house. As Follows:
BW Pistols 3 x 8
BW Squats 2 x 70
BW Lunges 1 x 50 (still hate these but i am working on my attitude about that)
Dead man quad raise 3 x 10 (on your knees- keep a straight torso all the way thru the motion and lean backwards til you can’t go no more & repeat til you can’t stand the pain no more)
All in all it was a good workout despite the change in plans.
That’s a nice mile run time, especially since it followed a weighted (I’m gonna round up) 4 mile run. Your strength and conditioning levels are truly inspiring.
Bobbi - Thanks for poppin’ on in! It was a intense run…
Nadia - I am trying really hard not to over do it on these “walks”, in fact I covered up the monitor on the machine so I was not trying to compete with my time yesterday. Just keep a steady pace that is challenging but not to much - tough for me and my competitive spirity. Thanks.
okay good stuff, glad that tomorrow is a rest day though on the T-rows I am gripping the edge of the plate with my fingers and then pulling that way - it sure makes it tough on the ol’ fingers but I enjoy it this way, good way to make the hands stronger. Thinking I am going to start doing pullups every other day or find a pullup program that does not require everday or high volume that will still allow me to increase my #'s. I think there was an article in T-Nation for the very thing. Off to search for it, when I come up with something I will log it in here. Btw I am wanting to get my BW pullups to 20 - my max effort now is either 14 or 15, so not to far off. Also I am doing an EMT-Basic course over the next 6 months, so lots of studying and cramming in the book knowledge. Ugh what was I thinking???
1 hour walk with 20lbs in 6-12" of snow. This walk was brutal and left me feeling pretty ragged - I guess it was more of a “hike” than a walk. It was windy and warmer out though - nice to be outside.
Thanks Print. I found a program that is on this site called “I sorta suck” program. Who wouldn’t want to do that program?? I am gonna start on it Sunday… should be interesting
About 45 -60 seconds rest in between sets. Saturday is my easy day - mobility, stretching active recovery type stuff and I was sick yesterday - which is very odd for me, not sure what is up with that.!! Anyhow my stomach is still a bit uneasy but I felt the need to do something. I started on a pullup program - so you will be seeing way more pullups in here - always a good thing .
Um going to go for a “vest” walk later today… I have signed up for an EMS class - so I have been cramming my brain with a bunch of studying, this should make for an interesting calving season, trying to study for EMS course, take care of baby calves & Momma cows all on about 4-5 hours sleep. Thankfully on the weekend I should be able to catch up on some zzz’s. Probably by Wednesday or Thursday I am going to start back on 5/3/1 with a emphasis on conditioning, which means less accessory work and more conditioning stuff. See if I can keep that stuff til my run in June…giving myself plenty of time here
I’ll be curious to hear about how you like the new pullup program. Let us know if it works for you. I had forgotten you were in the midst of your crazy season. How much longer until you’re able to sleep more?
