That took 22 minutes, can’t remember how long it took last time so not sure if good or bad. Then hit the rower and the bike for some interval stuff for another 15 mins on each.
Good to hear about the knees. It looks like you have things dialed in right now. Keep it up!!
One question: do you do the military press as a push-press type movement or just a normal military press (no leg movement)?
No leg drive. Strict standing military.
Actually had a guy come up and tell me the other day I was doing them wrong and that I should be dropping and driving. When I explained that was a push press and I wasn’t doing those he wandered off looking very confused.
Sort of amusing having someone 70kg and built like a stick telling me I’m doing the exrcise wrong. I’m sure he is probably a Human Movement or PE major at the Uni I work at.
Bench
60x5
100x5
107.5x5
107.5x4 Was quite sure I wouldn’t get the 5th rep up, just didn’t feel good, no spotter so didn’t even try.
Deadlifts
100x5
160x5
these felt really good, back felt great. I’m sure I could handle some more weight in this rep scheme if I snuck some chalk in. After 5 reps I just struggle to grip the bar due to my own damn sweat.
Chins

That was all, standard old 40 minutes today. Bloody cold here in Aus today also, not exactly relishing riding my bike home.
I always forget about the whole Summer/Winter thing south of the equator…that and the water flowing the other way in the toilet.
I don’t know if you northern folk would find it cold. Was 8 Deg C when I got up yesterday. Topped out at 12. Cold (for me) again today. Is bloody cold on a motorbike though. Might have to sneak up north to Queensland for a break in a month or so.
Was supposed to do 6 sets of 5 resp each. Only managed 3 sets of 5 and my arms were a juddering mess, possibly wasn’t giving myself enough of a break. Anyway will try again in a few days and see at least if I can get 4 sets of that comples in. Good news is that the guns are wickedly pumped:)
Train in the morning today, whole new sensation. And a whole lot more females wandering around, file that away into teh memeory.
Well doing the maths for everyone elses logs converting them back to kg’s for me keeps me on my toes so I guess I’m just returning the favour.
Today,
Another pretty quick day not a whole lot of work but what I did was quality, sort of.
Squats
60kgx5
100x5
130x5
130x5
Knee felt quite solid today, stil going to keep with squats just twice a week for the time being though.
Bench
60x5
100x5
107.5x4
107.5x4
Bit pissed off, had to use the shitty bench which is about 10cm (4 inches) lower than the one I normally use, had no drive from my legs at all and hence couldn’t hit my last two sets for 5 reps, 4 only. Shitty, that helped my dead though.
Deadlift
100x5
165x5
Felt excellent, really smooth again only trouble is my sweaty palms, just going to have to work on my grip and grab some chalk, just a little bit.
Chinups
BW (100kg)x8
BWx8
That was all, 35 minutes, was blowing pretty hard at the end of it.

Ahhhh… you ok muffin? lol!
At least you don’t have to dodge polar bears and flying hockey pucks… and feed your ride (dog sled)before you head to the gym like up here. Just kiddin’…
Your training is coming along knicely, how does the back feel lately?

Our cold snap has finished. Nice 23 degrees yesterday, that is more like the winter I like!
Back is good and knee seems to holding up better now I’m not trying to squat 3 times per week, plus the other couple of sports I play as well.
Interesting day in the gym, performance was all going well until this boppy little song comes on the screen. “this sounds okay,” thinks Burnesy “gee she looks okay,” upon closer inspection “why is she familiar?” hmmmmm “wait a minute that’s Miley Cyrus!”.
Training was somewhat somewhat poor after that revelation.
Going to have to get the gym to change the music station on the screens.
Today,
Leg Press
140kgx5
200x5
240x5
240x5
Standing Military Press
60x5
60x5
60x5
These were pretty hard today, don’t know why.
Upright Rows
55x5
55x5
55x5
Conversely these felt really good.
Of to the Bicep specialisation after only getting 3 circuits in last time I was sure I would do better, and I did. 5 circuits today, still not 6 but nearly there next time. In my defence the Miley Cyrus episode happened at the start of the 5th circuit.

You guys gave the world the Bee Gees and Foster’s Beer, we have given the world Miley Cyrus and Budweiser…
I will let everyone be the judge of which is better/worse.
Funny you know. The Fosters for sale in Australia is fairly ordinary, not a popular brand at all.
However when I was OS I tried one and low and behold it was good. Tasted much like another beer over here called “Crown Lager” which is a premium brand made by the same company.
So basically my theory is that you OS people get the premium stuff as “Fosters” and in Aus they sell the dross.
Moral of the story when in Australia drink Coopers Pale Ale, or Carlton Draught, or Bluetongue, or well just about anything I suppose.
Mmmmmm beer, may have a few tonight assuming I work hard in the gym this afternoon.
