Picked up a bit of a head cold and gave myself a couple of days off.
On top of that have had heaps of crap going on at work so was happy to get into the gym over lunch. Took out my frustrations on the bar and made a Deadlift PR of 200kg woo hoo, yeah me!
Hadn’t intended to do that but felt good and was happy with how I got it up. Might have to sneak some chalk in next time I do that and see what else I can do.
Today lower body, except I had a desire to do some chins at the end so did some.
Looks like it will be time to go for my 300lb bench next week nailed a double of 130kg today but it took a bit out of me so I put off my attempt for the single to next week. Good session today.

Back to work after a great 4 days off. No access to a gym while i was away so just did some body weight stuff, push ups and some chins at a kids playground, also had a couple of good walks and one run, brain explosion for that one, running uphill at 100kg sucks ass.
Today back to the real world of work and my highlight of the work day my trip to the gym,

Lookin’ good Burnsey! What areas do those bulgarian split squats hit the most?
For me my hammy’s when right down low.
I find them tough as my left knee is what is the right word, wobbly? Hurt it playing rugby years ago and has never been the same. Can do lots more with my right leg as opposed to my left. Basically feels like teh knee has little rigidity when i have it isolated like that. That said it is probably a good exercise for me to do to build the supportive tissue up.
They hurt big time after already frying your legs with regular squats.
Turning thirty five sure hasn’t slowed you down. Must be all that great weather down under. What ever it is it’s working for you.
It’s fun but we’re on the same metric system as you are but all the gyms are in pounds not kilo’s. Must be the American influence. You make me have to do brain work to see where you’re at. Looking good in both lbs and kilo’s, stay strong Bro.

Thanks mate. Don’t know if our weather is that great at the moment, just had quite a cold snap, Autumn here, probably not cold for you but it is for me.I think I’ll be have to put the push bike away for a while and take the train into work bit too chilly in the morning.
My gym mainly has everything in kgs a couple of the plate loaded machines are in pounds but I always convert them in my head to kgs.
Had a laugh the other day at the pub when i was telling one of my mates I’d deaded 200 for my PR, another who was listening in says “that’s nothing mate I could do that”, then one of my other friends tells him that that is 200kg’s not pounds and the chirpy one nearly choked on his beer. Nice to know that when talking to guys who don’t lift all the time 200kgs is still alot.
That said my goals for the end of the year are still 300 bench, 400 squat and 500 dead. The 300/400/500 combo sounds a whole lot cooler than 136/181.5/227

Yeah I hear you but just think how sweet 150, 200, 250kg will make you feel. Stay strong Bro you’ll make it, then you’ll have to work toward this one.
Very sneaky moving my log to the new log forum. No matter I’ll just pretend I’m not over 35 seeing as I’m not posting over there now.
Today was supposed to be a max effort for legs, best laid plans. Copped a cricket ball into the back of my knee last night, didn’t hurt much then, hurts quite bit now. of all things seems to have made my left knee even more unstable. Anyway decided to change things a bit, mainly because my knee hurt doing certain things.
Felt like I hadn’t done a whole lot so sat down on teh C2 rower and rowed for 8 minutes 1830m. Need to do a bit more cardio seeing as i’m not riding to work at the moment.
Weekend coming up and have the first round of my golf club championships, good luck to me. Have a good weekend all.
Oh and in regards to the golf, after the first round I’m coming 4th in the overall scratch, would be doing much better but I dropped 4 shots on the 15th and 16th holes, at that time I wasn’t a happy camper. Tough windy day though so I’m still in the hunt, I’m 6 shots behind the leader. Hopefully can make some up next Saturday, 4 rounds altogether so a long way to go.
Legs today. Was in a bit of a rush but got a workout done in and out in 40mins, was a bit wobbly going down the stairs when i finished but I suppose that means i did some work.
