I had 5 guys last wednesday. Fries were crisp and hot as lava right out of the friar.
The hamburger was big, juicy and the cheese was melted. They got my order right, it was big and it was good. Guess it depends where you go. While the price is kinda out there. 11$ for a double cheese burger (Big burger) and a large fry (They fill a whole brown lunch bag), at least you get the amount you paid for.

I personally think 5 guys is terribly overrated. Their only redeeming quality is the fries, but I generally don’t eat those and this thread’s about burgers, not fries.
Didnt we do a best burger in Houston thread last year sometime?
Yessir. I’m living in Portland now but I’ll be back home to get my burger on soon. Go check out the Hubcap grill downtown or King Biscuit in the Heights. They’re the best 2 I can think of off the top.
Portland Oregon? or Portland Texas?
If I go to the Heights do I have to take Prof X? Hubcap will do.
Oregon, haha. If you wanna be trapped in the car with that guy that’s your deal. I’d fly solo, or at least sans the good doctor…
Just joking I dont even know this town at all, where and what is the Heights?
Token wants to take me to a strip joint, I figured Prof X loves burgers so he would be good company.
It’s a neighborhood near the Washington area outside of Montrose over the Shephard bridge. You in Houston proper or in the 'burbs?

To easy.
Someone mentioned this earlier and I have to agree, not all of the 5 Guys restaurants sever the same quality. There’s a 5 Guys in the Vista in Columbia, South Carolina that’s serves tastier burgers and fries than the one down the street from me in Dartmouth, Mass.
Overall though, I’m going to go with In and Out if I had to choose between the two. I’ve only had it a couple times, but from what I remember, their patties were juicy, but not fatty.
I’m not bashing 5 Guys though. They have juicy patties too, but like what’s been said about the cheese, not so much.
Oh, and Taco Bell’s quad steak burrito is the boooomb, ba-bomb-ba-bomb-bomb
I’ll concur that Smashburger is the best that I’ve had.
I assume they have regional burgers, and here we have the Bluegrass Burger: Bourbon bbq sauce, beer cheese, and fried banana pepper rings. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Great fries, too.
