I teach in a public high school, and there are circumstances where I think the response to aggression or bullying goes overboard or is otherwise unjustified, but this isn’t one of them. My first question would be where was the adult on the bus? However, this kid took all he could take, and I can’t fault him for protecting himself against further harm. There are some bullies who don’t respond to any sort of diplomacy, from adults or from the victims of the bully’s own aggression - they just have to be put in their place.
