I know, right

I wish I was rich…

I’m calling BS. That article doesn’t state what ballistics protection it offers. Regardless, head shots make that $19k suit a collosal waste of money…

Soooooo friggin sweet!

It’s legit.
True about the head shots, but that is true with most body armor. Only a matter of time before that is fixed though, I would think

Needs a go go gadget propeller then.

Lulz, there is a company in Brazil that makes them and Steven Seagal(sp?) had them make this horrible looking leather kimono that is bullet proof…Le Douche.

The technology is sweet though.

Better than nothing, but for $19K I don’t think so. I’ve worn body armor every day (overt and covert) for the past six years and seen firsthand the kind of protection they provide. Just because the bullet doesn’t penetrate the fabric doesn’t mean you’ll survive. Bullet resistant fabric technology hasn’t changed much since the first soft body armor was introduced, the real advances are happening with energy absorption/dissipation, which is only possible with thicker bulkier materials. First generation Kevlar was made and tested exactly the same way as in the video, problem was the bullet pulling fabric into the (shallower) wound. Internal trauma was still massive and survival rates were only slightly better.

If was going to be wearing a three piece suit I would have no problem concealing a well fitted covert vest with a much higher level of protection. Concealment isn’t what stops people wearing armor, it the heat. It’s true what they say, better hot than shot, but I won’t be wearing a 3 piece in summer, ever.

Also, I wouldn’t call that a bullet proof “suit”, from the video it looks like just the vest has any real layered protection. Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone would offer just the vest at a much lower price? Or better yet, just the armor panels that could be used in number of clothing items of varying styles for different applications? We could call them carriers or something. One can dream…
