Brain Gender Test

http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/add_user.shtml

The test tells you if you have more characteristics of a typical male brain, or a female brain.

It takes around 15 minutes and you need a ruler.

Post your results

Maxed out every single test, my score was 0 (perfectly balanced).

I’m half man, half woman (exactly 0 on the personal brain score), with a liking for male faces.

Funny, I’ve been tested, and my testosterone is perfectly normal for a woman.

Funny, I took, I think this exact same test(or at least one very similar) about 4 years ago and I was 0 on the scale. But taking it again, I am 50 towards the Male brain… does that make me a T-man?

So you correctly picked out all of the differences in the visual memory test?

I sucked at that one

All man.

Missed one item and scored in the high 90s, basically memorized everything by establishing relationships between objects:

bird perched on cane
umbrella covers plant that’s watered, diagonal cans
elephant sits on hat, ironing board in sky
bear lifts weights
large paintbrush in bottle, small on left
etc.

Still remember most of that scene, haha!

50 points towards male.

I scored 12/12 on the ‘rotate the object’ test. Which surprised me.

I thought this was going to be some stupid questionnaire test, quite the opposite. Very indepth.

Thanks for posting this.

50 towards male

i got 10/10 on the eyes test. i did terrible on everything that had to do with shapes and “systems” though

i couldnt do the finger thing cause i dont have a ruler with milimeters since i dont like in england and im not about to use a converter to figure it out but from another test ive done i know i had higher test in the womb cause of ring finger length.

overall it said i had a more female brain though.

Got 25 male. Seems like intelligence really affects this test.

Could be, but in the summary and description of the score it differentiated between your score and the average male and female score. I think the goal of the test is less about how well you do on specific tasks, and more to determine which tasks you do slightly better than others. So, even if you did very poorly on all the tests, you’d still do slightly less poorly on some, and it would (within the limitations of the test) accurately report your brain’s gender nonetheless.

Using that technique would certainly help, but I doubt I would be able to get 16/16 as my visual memory is horrendous. I have no problems quickly memorizing complex information that is written or spoken, but if the information is visual I can’t do it.

I have mild prosopagnosia (inability to recognize faces) and I think it might be related to my poor visual memory. I can talk to someone for an hour one day and then not recognize them the next day.

Even if you max out all the tests, or suck badly at all of them, your score is still influenced by your finger ratio and your preference for either feminine or masculine faces.

Sure, and neither of those things have anything to do with intelligence, and therefore have no effect no the point I made.

I was agreeing with you

I might have missed it.

What did the facial preference entail?

i got 75-80 male.
couldnt come up with hardly any words at the end OOPS

they changed the faces making them more male, stronger jaw line etc etc i could see it straight away females erm looked “softer”

Also i read that if your ring finger is bigger than your 2nd finger then you have a higher rate of testosterone in your body.
