Here is my Boxer, Dex, he is 4. He still is hyperactive, he’s not tough at all though, he seems scary but cats batter him.

he has the “perfect” coloring for a boxer. very handsome boy indeed.

His Dad was a show dog, he is a typical of Boxer’s here, but he looks different to the other pics here, in colouring and bulk.

Another one of Dex.

Once you have a Boxer, you will never want another breed of dog.

Oh so very true.

Once you have an American Bulldog, you will never want another breed of dog.

Once you go “big and black”, you won’t ever go back…to whoever you were screwing before.

We would take his choker collar and reverse it ( hook the chain up ) so it didn’t tighten and take the other end and attach it to a snow sled. The first rider, my younger brotherb (5th grader) sat on the sled, with the rope to a second sled around his coat at the waist. The second snow sled carried another boy, so I guess we are looking at 160 - 180 pounds. We would help him start the pull, you had to keep the chain off of his back, and he would pull both sleds at a full run. He also loved tug-of-war and pulling him around you in a circle, he would come off the ground instead of letting go!

you went back huh?

I like boxers quite a bit in terms of looks and attitude, but they are considerably more “up” and active than my Akita, and frankly I like a dog that can chill.

In my experience, Rotts, Akitas, and Danes all seem to be at one energy level (calm) and Boxers, Dobermans and pitts all seem to be somewhat higher-strung. Doesn’t mean they aren’t cool, though.

Boxers, however, have NOXIOUS snoring, drooling, and farting issues. So does my Akita so I say it with love.

My next dog may be a Doberman just so I can experience the joys of a dog with a jaw not designed to fling slobber.

HA!

not what i ment actually, but i will leave it at that, would hate to hurt anybodies feelings…lol

I had A boxer for 10 years,he was 110 lbs of muscle and love. I had to put him down because of congestive heart problems. I want another one badly but no way could the next one live up to my “max”.

He love to chase a minpin down the street. He never hurt him, just chase the dog back home.
One time Max tried to run this old tom cat. That old cat was beat up from a hard life. The cat would not run ,just reared up with both claws, hissed and held his ground.

Max jumped at him twice then realized this was no plaything and turned and walked home. Some big bad dog he was.

Yeah, it has become quite a funny story. My brothers thought I was shitting them when I went in and told them there was a dead roo in the back yard!

I have a 4 month old male boxer/mastiff, this is my first dog ever and I love him to pieces he is my best friend. I was wondering if you could tell me why he snores SO loud? And if it is normal for boxers to do this…LOL Thanks

The next dog I get will be a boxer. The pic above is is the dog of a friend of mine. That dog has a better personality than many people I know. It pisses me off that where I live right now doesn’t allow pets.

He snores so loudly due to his short, wide snout. Dogs with shorter snouts have somewhat impeded breathing abilities and, therefore, snore.

So I adopted Prime here last week from the local shelter and he is funny has hell. But I cant really figure out what he has in him. The vet says he dosent see any Pitt in him but can see Boxer in the head…I just cant see it so Ill put it to you all? What do you think?

Another shot

one more

Cropped ears look disgusting. The dog looks mutilated to me.

Mine has had her tail done and even that is wrong enough.

I’d never do anything like that willingly to a dog of any age. [/quote]

So if you could prevent potential disease or medical problems in the future, you would still not dock the dog’s tail? As noted above, many dogs have their tails docked for good reasons. For example, many bird dogs have docked tails as they are prone to breaking and the fix for a broken tail can be more painful and problematic than the docking. Most often, the only solution is to amputate the dog’s tail.

I hated going to the dentist as a kid, but I am sure glad that I toughed out getting my cavities filled.
