Bowe Bergdahl

Thirdly, if this was a POW exchange then Obama NEEDED to follow the law and involve Congress. If we’re going to play like this is a legitimate thing then we need to do it legitimately according to forms and laws. He did not do that, and I have a MAJOR problem with that.
Yeah, I’m just discussing the ethics of the trade itself. You aren’t going to find me defending the president and his unconstitutional behaviors. But don’t worry, he’ll be gone soon, and another guy who respects the Constitution even less (if that’s possible) will be in place.

He/she* was pretty confident that Bam was going to get smoked in 2012… Which considering he was an incumbent, is one of the heaviest criticisms one can have of a POTUS. Incumbents dont’ lose often.

*not meaning to insult, just realized I’ve always assumed you were a dude muffsa and I haven’t the slightest clue.

It’s interesting to note that Israel, the beau ideal of counterterrorism around these parts, has released 7,000 Palestinian prisoners to secure freedom for 19 Israelis and to retrieve the bodies of eight others.

The White House gave more attention to Bergdahl than the men who died looking for him. I wish there was more coverage of these men who lost their lives.

Staff Sergeant Clayton Bowen, 29, of San Antonio, Texas
Pfc. Morris Walker, 23, of Fayetteville, N.C.
Staff Sergeant Kurt Curtiss, 27, of Murray, Utah
2nd Lieutenant Darryn Andrews, 34, of Dallas, Texas
Staff Sergeant Michael Murphrey, 25, of Snyder, Texas
Pfc. Matthew Martinek, 20, of DeKalb, Illinois

Now, that said and not remembering all of the details about the beheading you’re referring too, I suspect almost all real service members would of gladly volunteered to personally attempt a rescue operation for every one of those journalists even though they put themselves in harms way.

I’m probably not explaining myself very well, I just think it’s a different situation.
I’m on about 7000 different military FB pages, and concur. There is no minority of veterans completely motivated about volunteering for just about any action over there, double so when Americans are killed on YouTube for sport.

I have no clue what obamao is smoking where trading 1 deserter piece of shit, for 4 high level enemies is in anyway logical or legal. You could maybe make a case for 1-1 trade, but 1-4; are you fucking kidding me?

The Israeli ratio is approximately 1:389.

Why are you comparing the U.S. to Israel Bismark?

LOL!

No problem, Beans!

I’m a guy!

Yep…after his disastrous first debate…and listening to everyone on PWI…I really thought that Romney had in in the bag.

THAT’S the problem with taking a very narrow view on things. For that, I plead guilty.

In terms of my criticism of the President?

I think that where I differ from most on PWI is that I feel more frustration with the President than hate.

So while I may feel a lot of frustration; you will never see me spit out the vitriol that hate does. That may be interpreted as “never” criticizing the President.

It’s an interesting comparison in that Israeli counter-terrorism policy is often held to be the ideal. To be clear, I’m vehemently opposed to the deal that the administration made.

Frustrated is a good way to put it Mufasa.

I’m dumbfounded by those who are unable to use proper punctuation and have such contempt for the office of the President to feel that its acceptable to modify the CIC’s name into various pejoratives. I may disagree with the rationale that supported the invasion of Iraq, but I will always practice decorum by referring to former President Bush by his proper title.

I do agree with you there. I make every attempt to always give the office its due honor no matter what I think of its inhabitant by always referring to them properly, or at least by their proper last name. It really bothers me when people don’t do that.

You did make an interesting point. I’m a bit fuzzy on your rationale for being opposed to the deal because I don’t remember what you said. Give a quick recap on your reasons?

I think we were along similar lines but I do not recall.

Respect is earned, not given, and not granted by title or position.

CIC isn’t some holy saint that gets bowed to. In fact the entire fucking point of shooting the fucking British in the face was that the CIC wasn’t the King or Queen.

Things may be different in the military, and I understand the need, there, to adhere to that rationale.

But in the civilian world, POTUS is just a man, with a really important job, who may be really shitty at said job, or not be able to earn respect while in that job. I respect the job is hard, I understand. But people beg for billions in order to beg voters for that job, and they work for me when they get that job.

Therefore, when I want to call POTUS Bam, Bambino, 43, 41, Clinton or Fuckface, I will. And not only will I do so at will, proudly, I won’t be spoken to or about, by anyone as having my character or patriotism put in question because I demand the Leader of the Free World ACT with respect, dignity and integrity if he/she wants those things in return.

Respect the position because “he’s higher than you”… Bullshit.

This isn’t the military, you earn respect. ANd the fact that was used as a limp wristed personal attack on aggv is fucking embarrassing to the user.

That we will openly mock or berate the highest office in the land makes me exceptionally proud of my country. Lack of respect for shit authority is beautifully American.

Absolutely, and The Office of the President of the United State of America has certainly earned that respect. Respect doesn’t mean saint hood or treating the sitting POTUS as a king.

President Obama earned the position fair and square, twice.

POTUS is the Commander in Chief my friend. One of, if not his most important function, is his command of the military. I’m not so sure you can just separate his civilian and military functions.

I don’t think anyone questioned your character, I for one did not. You’re free to call him whatever you want. Says so right in the Constitution.
