Borat on The Daily Show
You guys must have seen an entirely different movie than I did. Of all the scenes I thought were funny, only 2 or 3 weren’t in the previews. My GF and I wasted 2 hours and 20 bucks.

The movie was very good. Not as funny as I had hoped because some of the jokes were given away during the trailer. But still hysterical in most of the parts.
The Jewish satire was classic and absolutely hysterical especially the Bed and Breakfast scene. The movie was extremely stereotypically hysterical. There were some scenes that you had to have some intelligence to get and that was all the more funny. 1/4 crowd would be in tears and the other 3/4 would just giggle.
I highly recommend it definitely worth seeing at any time.

PGA, I shortened up your story.
I don’t have the same sentiment as everyone else on this thread.
The jokes that where funny had been played out by the trailers and the rest (of what I did see) of the movie was absolutely boring.
I walked out and got my money back, and I have never walked out of a movie before. Also, 3 other guys walked out of the same theater I was in and demanded their money back.

I can see why. I thought the movie blew. I walked out several times to take phone calls, something I obviously wouldn’t do during a good movie.

I’d have to agree.

I was expecting a whole lot less staged stuff and more Borat candid camera.
Staged?
I.e. the stuff about the plot, the bear, Baywatch, Azamat. The prostitute was an actress, I’m sure.

Were you guys fans before the movie? I ask because I was leary of the movie just rehashing his bits from HBO and some of his UK stuff. Did it?
I was a fan, although not a huge one. Yes, he does rehash some stunts, but as they’re with different people, the outcomes are not exactly the same.
I laughed more than I have in a long time. I was also disgusted immensely by the attitudes displayed by some of the people, in particular the rodeo organiser. It’s pathetic individuals like him that give the US a bad rep. Most of the other people he meets are good-natured folk that are somewhat (and justifiably) bewildered by Borat and his actions.
I plan on renting it when it comes out on DVD as I probably missed a good 20% of what was said because I couldn’t hear over the laughter in the jam-packed theatre I watched it in.
