Boondock Saints

That is a great line

Zap, I agree with you. I watched this movie for the first time a couple of months ago and was really disappointed.

While it was somewhat entertaining, it wasn’t as good as everyone has made it out to be.

But Bauer is probably right. When you go into a movie expecting something amazing, you are usually going to be let down. And I was.

But I didn’t really like Pulp Fiction the first time I saw it either. So, I think I might give Boondock Saints another try.[/quote]

I was also disappointed with Pulp Fiction after all the hype but it was an OK movie and it kept my attention.

Boondock Saints is a couple grades below Pulp Fiction.

This is another good point, and something I’ve experienced with quite a few movies.

I remember seeing “Snatch” in the theater and leaving thinking it was incredibly stupid.

Then, I saw it on HBO or something some time later and really liked it.

Then, I bought it on dvd and have probably watched it 100 times and love it.

Sometimes you just need to see a movie a few times for you to understand all its parts and for it to grow on you.

I like the movie, but I had to turn it off last night. When one of the best parts of a movie is the dialogue, and you have to leave half of it out, don’t even bother putting it on network TV.

The first time I saw the movie I just happened to pick it up at Blockbuster and it was before the movie got popular.

I absolutetly loved it the first time. It was a bit over the top but I thought it was cool as hell.

A few years later I saw it again and thought to myself,

“how the hell did I like this crap?”

I have to disagree. Boondock Saints is LEAGUES beneath Pulp Fiction.

To compare Pulp Fiction to Boondock Saints is like comparing a high quality diamond to a piece of coal, IMO.

Bullet Tooth Tony: Boris the Blade? As in Boris the Bullet-Dodger?
Avi: Why do they call him the Bullet-Dodger?
Bullet Tooth Tony: 'Cause he dodges bullets, Avi.

Snatch left me with a feeling of, “what did I just watch?” But now it’s just freakin’ hilarious.

A couple grades below? Pulp Fiction is Raging Bull and Boondock Saints is Gigli.

The premise is great, the two leads are charismatic and talented – especially Reedus…Ron Jeremy keeps his clothes on, which is a definate plus.

I hate everything else, script, direction, annoying scenery chewing, and the soundtrack that sounds like Nickleback’s retarded uncles jamming in a garage.

I don’t know about giving it a second try. I saw Boondock Saints a second time and didn’t like it nearly as much as I had the first time. Since I’m from Boston the novel feeling of seeing my city on the screen probably made it much better than it was. But I still like the movie fairly well.

This sentence tells me everything I need to know about your taste in movies.

I dig the movie, what’s been frustrating is all the posturing about a sequel.

It was a cool movie, shot in a cool way and that’s about it. I think Duffy drank the Koolaid about him being the next Tarantino and let his ego get out of hand.

As a red blooded American I enjoy movie violence but I prefer it to have a plot and believable characters.

Bible quoting, suit wearing, heroin addicted hitmen just don’t ring true.

I did like Bruce Willis’ part of Pulp Fiction.

You know, my gal and I were flipping around the channels last night and I noticed Boondock Saints was on Spike tv. It was the gun fight recreation scene, where Defoe is conducting/freaking out in the middle of all the chaos. She asked we I liked it so much. I couldn’t exactly explain why, but I totally did.

I think it’s not so much the actual story, but the characters. Best character in the film: Rocco, without a doubt.

“Hey, Fuckass.”

“It’s me. I’m Rocco. I’m the funny man. I’m the funny man!!”

"I’ll shoot myself in the head if you can tell me that fucking cat’s name! "

“Catch you on the flip side.”

I HATED Rocco. How many times did they have to say he was the funny man? He was not funny at all. Was this some subtle irony?
