Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

He is a historian who writes fictional accounts of wars and such. He did one about the Spartans called ‘Gates of Fire’. Pretty good read. I’ve been meaning reading to read some of his other ones, but my reading list is pretty long. He also wrote the ‘Legend of Bagger Vance’ which got made into a movie.

Rippetoe mentioned it an article, so I checked it out and wasn’t disappointed.

Didn’t we just do this?

Still going to stick with Chuck Palahniuk; he’s a madman and everything he writes is great.

The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King is gold.

S.M. Stirling’s Dies the Fire Series.

Any Terry Pratchett or Christopher Moore will be good for a laugh.

I read one a while ago called Apathy and Other Small Victories. I fell off my rack laughing at that.

The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Doulas Adams is fantastic.

Most Tom Clancy is good. You just have to be able to follow eight different story lines.

Good fiction? the catcher in the rye, if you have not read it yet get it and read it!

I am a Stephen King fan myself.

I hated that book so much.

Damn, wish I had time to read outside of schoolwork

clive cussler is awesome. writes mostly fictional, action, mystery type books that are sometimes loosely based on historical fact. Think indiana jones in a book.

To Kill a Mockingbird was terrible. It gave me no information on how to exterminate said avian species.

Orson scott card, I like the ender’s series, Empire was not as good.
R.A. Salvatore, I have liked most of his stuff, it is mostly Fantasy Fiction
Terry Brooks, Fantasy fiction as well.
Douglas adams If you are needing to have your brain twisted and confused.

I am out of shit to read myself,

You have to accuse it of rape.

Catch-22?

not mystery or anything but it is good book in my opinion.
Bitterly funny.

If you want to combine Mystery and science fiction then I would recommend Isaac Asimov - The Caves of Steel.

My problem with it was that the guy complained way too much about useless things.

Unfortunately, I have a very short list of books because of school. However, I did like Animal Farm (just because I have a close tie to what the book is about), MacBeth, Lord of the Flies, and Taming of the Shrew.
