Blood work finally : weird results

OK so I have made a few posts about struggling with TRT. I am having bad insomnia and anxiety with it out of nowhere.

I FINALLY got most of my blood work back. They are still waiting on the Ultra Sen. Estradiol.

Total Test : 484 (250-1100)
Free Test : 108 ( 35-155)
Estrogen : Waiting for ultra sensitive to come back.

Now some things that stood out as potential issues.

Hbg: 17.8
HCT: 54.2 I was def. Mildly dehydrated that morning, fasting and forgot to drink water.
WBC : 12.5. I have a tooth that was infected and due to come out this coming Monday.

With that said, could the Hematocrit cause sleep and anxiety issues ? I am pretty sure the infection can, but i was under impression it was resolved as I took antibiotics.

Doubt that’s your issue, but would maybe want thyroid checked too

Oh it’s defintely elevated for sure. I will likely donate blood coming up here soon. My urologist said she doesn’t make patients donate until they hit 56% if not symptomatic.

Im just wondering if all this negative sleep issues are related to the tooth infection.

A lot of context is missing here, when were these labs drawn in relation to your injections, are these trough, midpoint or peak levels?

Also, how many times per week are you injecting testosterone?

Hematocrit slowly rises over time after the first year of therapy, you said the symptoms came on suddenly.

What is your blood pressure?

Daily injections 10mg cyp
Labs drawn morning before shot.

Blood pressure is great 118/76

I think the daily shots actually jacked up the hct. Usually stay around 50

What was your free before the sleep and anxiety? Is the 108 at trough? What if you felt better at 80 to 90 trough? Would you even consider lowering it because most people here are on very high doses and are supraphysical? Consider lowering it or you will never know if that is the issue. Check other paramters like thyroid but don’t think more is better is the way to go here. As Systemlord said, 7 mg/say would have been a good dose for him.

I am on 53 or 54 mg/wk and feel TONS better than on 80 mg/wk. Focus, memory, everything is better. My doctor asked me who I was becuase I am so much better. The reason is i had anxieyt all of my life. With trt, I have no more anxiety or sleep issues. Not without trial and error but definitely a way better life now. I went off once trying to dial in and spent two months in hell. I have a pituitary issue to I don’t put out much LH. Not saying lower is better for you but your level at 108 isn’t bad at all at trough so maybe the peak is just too damn high for you.

Free t was higher at 158. Didn’t have this same insomnia. I also am having significant loss in libido. Going to donate blood today to get hct down, but not sure if this just test or estrogen related. Not even sure if this is high e2 as I already took an ai .25mg over 24 hours ago with no relief.

“ There is a practice to assess hydration status through hemoglobin-hematocrit relationship. The hematocrit must always be three times the value of hemoglobin (Hct = 3 x Hb). If it is lower (Hct< 3 x Hb), the patient is overhydrated, and **if it is higher (Hct> 3 x Hb), the patient is dehydrated”

I had a phlebotomy yesterday and I slept better last night and woke up feeling more refreshed than usual. My ferritin a week prior to the phlebotomy was 56.

When my hemoglobin is out of range, I’m more lethargic, have palpitations, feel overly hot (hot flashes) and sweat more and had ED and low libido.

My estrogen remains high and after the blood letting these symptoms are gone. My erections are returning as is my libido.

I can’t imagine it’s causing my sleep issues and I kinda like running up steps without difficulty lol but I’m being told to do it by everyone lol
