At it’s core, the vid appears to me to be Mahers way of trying to associate himself with people whom he has no business associating himself with. He would like to imply that the founding fathers were everything that the liberals of today are accused of being.

Whether his misinterpretation of them is due to his own ego or an actual psychological problem which results in faulty conclusions has yet to be determined, or it could be a complex combination of both, but regardless of which the case may be, He simply is not in their league, and neither are the modern libs.

If they were, they would be penning up a document that defines a society, which stands the test of time and creates what is (arguably) one of the greatest societies the world has ever seen.

They have yet to do that. In fact, they can’t even pen up a health care bill that doesn’t intrude on peoples liberties, let alone create a document that defines and protects them.

Maher is a sad case of sour grapes. He really should turn in his mantle of comedian and pick up a new one, like “Bitter social commentator whose party has taken a beating and now tries to be smart and eloquent, but just comes of as smug and venomous”.

He lacks the wit and intelligence of great satirists, and I’m pretty sure that he is acutely aware of this. None of his observations are even remotely original or clever, and he lacks the vocabulary and self control to deliver anything that even closely resembles them. I’d feel bad if I had the ability to give a fuck about idiots like him, a sentiment which is most likely reciprocated.

Maher is pissed that the pendulum is swinging back towards Conservatism. He is blaming it on “stupid American people who don’t know shit, white cracker rednecks who gather being affiliated with the Klan, and those damn Tea Baggers who cockblocked the Leftist agenda he gets wood over.”

Irish, you live in an area that is highly Liberal, just like me. But the majority of the US is still right of center. I know this is probably hard to grasp, only because both and I are surrounded by Leftist thinking, yet we belong to states that are severely failing in many aspects.

Just as a side note, our newly elected Democratic governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown has proposed reducing government by a sizable amount, as well as pension reform, and now has death threats. Which group of people do you think would be responsible for this?..*cough…labor unions…*cough. Where is Maher denouncing this? And this is on HIS turf too?

But he has no place being taken seriously in politics. The political environment here is such a joke, guess who is running as the next mayor of Los Angeles?..George Lopez, and I am not joking. Hollywood is more about being Hollywood in politics, and not about being Washington D.C. Remember bro, this is the land of movies and media. Nothing but fantasy and fiction here, that applies to politics too. A mayor who went to a NON-accredited law school and flunked out, a governor who in his first term allowed for workers to unionize, an attorney general who will not seek the death penalty (including those who killed cops), a state Republican party that cast the deciding vote to invoke the highest tax hike in US history, a Democratic legislature that passed its own statewide Global Warming Law causing energy prices to go up 20% as of right now. Fucking state college tuition going up by 15%. With all this money coming in, why do we have problems financially? This is the mindset that Maher will NEVER address.
