I am still not sure what world someone lives in where the threat of death is over simply because the killer chasing you turned around and faced south.

… You mean besides the part where they’re no longer perusing you?
Again more maybes. But it seems that is all is needed.
I am still trying to understand how ‘turning around’ equals ‘not pursuing you anymore’. The man was still on the same street as Trayvon meaning the threat was still there.
It makes no sense to say the threat was gone unless he drove away.

I don’t understand how somebody can think that “moving in the opposite direction” = “pursuing”.
Call me crazy, but that sounds like the opposite of pursuing.

UH, he was still looking for Trayvon and was still waiting on cops to look for Trayvon…so obviously he was still pursuing Trayvon even if he lost immediate sight of him for a second. If he was going back to his car, it isn’t like he was getting in it to go home. He would have been going back to it to look for Trayvon some more because the cops were still coming.
That means, yes, Zimmerman was still in pursuit of Trayvon IN THE GATED COMMUNITY even IF he was going back to his car which was closer to the entrance.

I think you’re only pretending to not understand. As soon as Trayvon lost Zimmerman, he had a choice. He made the wrong choice and got shot for it.
Zimmerman lost sight of Trayvon, so he stopped chasing him and went back to his car. Who knows, maybe he was getting his car so he could drive around looking for him, maybe he was just going back to wait for the police, but what I do know is that from the point where Zimmerman gave up and went back to his car to the time where Trayvon confronted him, he was absolutely not in pursuit.
Wanting to catch someone =/= pursuing them. You have to actually be pursuing them in order to be pursuing them.
Giving up and walking away =/= pursuing
Going back to your car so you can wait for the police =/= pursuing
Going back to you car so you can continue while driving =/= pursuing until you’re actually in the car, diving around looking for him
If Trayvon could manage to lose Zimmerman while Zimmerman was chasing him, he certainly could have gotten away while Zimmerman was not chasing him. He didn’t do that. He went back voluntarily in order to confront Zimmerman and then attacked him. This voids any self-defence claim Trayvon could make.
