UH, he was still looking for Trayvon and was still waiting on cops to look for Trayvon…so obviously he was still pursuing Trayvon even if he lost immediate sight of him for a second. If he was going back to his car, it isn’t like he was getting in it to go home. He would have been going back to it to look for Trayvon some more because the cops were still coming.
That means, yes, Zimmerman was still in pursuit of Trayvon IN THE GATED COMMUNITY even IF he was going back to his car which was closer to the entrance.
