Biotest Creatine?

“Drink immediately after mixing.”

How long after mixing will creatine keep? I generally mix up a serving of Surge before going to the gym and drink it after my workout. (The hour or so that it sits seems to improve the consistency and flavor of Surge, IMO.) If I mix creatine into my Surge and let it sit for an hour, will this “degrade” the creatine in any way?

As Tim pointed out a while back, the point of bringing the creatine product was simply because people were complaining/stating that they wanted to support T-Nation by purchasing Biotest supplements, however they also wanted to be able to purchase even the most “basic” or staple type of supplements so that they could satisfy all of their supplement needs in one place.
You guys rock! I’m buyin’ me a Biotest T-shirt with my next order.

To me, that sounds like “mix it into your cup of Surge post-workout.” Correct?
Yup.

What are you trying to say? That only Biotest has miconized Creapure? What makes you so sure? I haven’t even said what brand I was using.

But all the same, it’s nice that Biotest is going the one-stop route and including creatine. All I need now is multivitamins and then I won’t have to shop anywhere else for my supplements.

I believe he is saying that the Biotest-brand of creatine is not better than yours, if your brand of creatine is a micronized Creapure brand.
They are on the same level of creatiny goodness.

I did that one too. Once upon a time I missed a great deal on a box of Grow! Bars. I was one day late…it bites.

I hate to be the party pooper, but what’s the difference between this creatine and all the other creatine monohydrates? I figured creatine was creatine was creatine.
Well, other than being reaonably priced and the convenience of buying from Biotest, it is high quality and pure and uses German Creapure. It’s not the only company that does it. I know of another with quality like this. But generally it’s hard to trust that your getting the top of the line most places. You can have faith in that with Biotest. Otherwise, there’s really no difference. Creatine is not something that it’s possible to differentiate too much.

It’s micronized. Sweet! My creatine is creapure, too, so what makes Biotest’s better than the one I’m using right now?

the convenience of purchasing it here. and the satisfaction of supporting a business that gives away really good information for free.
Right. Even if your creatine is just as good why would you NOT buy it here at such a reasonable price along with a larger order of supplements to support Biotest?

But you certainly couldn’t tell by looking at the shelves of those businesses that use three-letter acronyms as their name…
I point and laugh as I walk by the outside of the place now…

Speaking of that; it looks like that is the only flavor of Metabolic Drive bars.

Is that so, or is it not updated yet?

I’d really miss the chocolate chunk and peanut-butter.

Maybe the chocolate chunk and peanut butter flavors are temporarily depleted due to the current free offer. When I placed an order Wednesday afternoon, the only option left at the time for the free bars was the chocolate chunk…

The serving size per box is also smaller… so bars are getting more expensive.
It looks like the price went down though, too. So it’s probably about the same (too early for math).

Anyways, Rocky Road and Creatine? Hot damn.

Very true!

I’ll tell you the difference…I was paying $35 for 200 servings, now $13 for 100 servings for the same Degussa Creapure.

Monohydrate is generally monohydrate, but there can be quality concerns. Micronized (small particle) monhydrate may dissolve better, so Biotest wins on both counts.

The latter article listed on page 1 of this thread goes through different creatines (other than monohydrate).

I also have a question:

I read through the previously posted articles on creatine and am wondering if the sodium in Surge(360mg) is sufficient to enhance absorbtion if mixing with creatine PWO?

Would adding more salt(50-100mg) just be overkill?
I recently added Surge to my diet.
I have 1/2 serving durring exercise 1/2-1 serving after.

I’m only mildly considering adding creatine, so my question is mainly out of curiosity.
Yes, the sodium in Surge is fine “as is”. Good call.

BTW-While I never officially recommend supplements, creatine is one that I’d consider using (almost) regardless of my age (after 16) or health condition (unless pregnant).

I notice it has a “recommended use for loading”

I thought loading creatine had been thoroughly debunked?

Am I missing something here? Or is there just some kind of labelling requirement Biotest has to comply with regardless of the facts?
No, loading is back in vogue now! It’s theorized that the rapid muscle swelling will create a hypertrophic response.

This just in: loading is no longer stylish and has no effect other than wasting your creatine. We’ll have to wait until next season for loading to come back into fashion.

An hour is fine. It would be a cool experiment to add your creatine just before you drink and see what happens. You may grow a third arm, but that in itself would be cool.

You know I love Biotest?

B/c I have peace of mind that I’m not buying shit. The price is just icing on the cake.

I bet if you mix this stuff with Surge you’ll be able to throw fireballs and sonic booms.

What are the benefits of Creatine?
