How so? Every single Arab country that held fair and transparent elections saw victories for Islamists. I don’t know for certain if the trend could be extended to Pakistan, but I don’t see anything that would suggest they don’t get, at least, a majority of seats in the Senate and National Assembly.
You might be right about that. But it’s obvious that someone wanted Bhutto out of the picture for some reason. Those reasons (as I see it) are going to be some combination of Religious and/or Political. Unfortunately for me as an “outsider” it is difficult a lot of the time to tell the difference, or to know if some of the big actors in that part of the world can do so either. So, if she was not killed because of her political stance, was it simply a reminder to the populace that women do not belong in a position of leadership?

Then why do you wish for elections in Saudi Arabia when you know damn well an even more strick government will arise?
Is your hatred for the US so strong that you wish a Taliban type government upon the people of SA just to see them stop being an ally of the US???
