brider, please explain to me, then, what christianity really is. I am very interested to hear this.
Being a christian is a way of life, not a belief structure or a dogma. For that reason, even athiests can be good christians. So can muslims and hindu’s. I would argue that Ghandi was more of a christian then most people who attend church every week. To be a christian you do not have to believe in Jesus Christ, you just have to live a life that follow the basic morals of his teachings. In my personal opinion I think you could put jesus in a room with Allah, Budda, and Vishnu, throw in John Paul Sarte and a couple of gay guys and I don’t think any of them would really have a problem. Most of the time it is not the “gods” who are the problem but the actions that are carried out in their name.
Also remember that the Bible has been rewritten and reformatted on a major scale at least 20 times since it’s first known inception. So don’t go throwing leviticus at me. Who knows who coulda thrown that one in there. For all we know one of the books of the bible that was omitted (and there are several of them that we actually know of, god knows what the Vactican and church have hidden) could of said to love all people as your brother no matter what their sexual persuasion is, whether it is an abomination or not.
If you want to start taking the bible litterally then go out and marry two sisters (like Jacob) or have a couple of wives and murder a guy cause your one wife wants his garden (yeah, solomon had a guy murdered cause his wife liked his gardens and the guy wouldn’t give them up, some wise genius huh). The entire bible is about the dual nature of man, both the good side and bad side. Jesus showed fear at one point in his life. Saul showed arrogance. Solomon showed the evil of unchecked power. Saul of Tarsus was a christian killing hate monger but became Paul and showed no fear in spreading the words and deeds of god. The list goes on and on.
So who knows what the bible really said and even if it does say homosexuality is a sin (which was probably more for reproductive reasons then moral ones due to the high mortality rate of disease, war etc.).
Now you know my opinion, I would love to hear yours.

Actually, homosexual behavior is perfectly natural, as animals in the wild display the exact same behavior. A study on chimpanzees about six years back found a rather shocking behavior in some of the males. They would attempt to mate only with other males, ignoring females for that reason.
So, it is found in nature. That I believe is the basic definition of natural if I remember correctly.
That said, I don’t think I could date a stripper to be honest with you. Not a jealous thing really, but more of a moral value thing. Not that I see anything wrong with a woman taking off her clothes for money, and rubbing up against someone just cause they pay… actually, yeah, that would be the problem with it.

ZEB nailed it when he mentioned homosexuality in fact being in the past…considered a psycological disorder…AND the fact that the homosexual lobby has had it removed from the APA diagnostic manual…when in fact there has been NO evidence of a “gay gene”. It is interesting to note that there have been quite a few people who where psycologically/spiritually treated…and live healthy…happy hetero lives and are great mothers and fathers. Not my opinion…just the facts…Its not normal…never has been…never will be…

I find this thought process slightly flawed, as one on the recipient end of a murder or theft generally does not wan’t this action to be taken against them. In converse a homosexual act is generally done between consenting adults.
I like to think of it in these terms, try to follow my logic.
Scenario #1 One guy beats the crap out of another guy in a bar, he has just broken the law and can be put in jail. There is no question wheather this act was morally right or acceptable. It is not acceptable.
Scenario #2 Two men fight each other in an octagon shaped cage. One man beats up the other and causes serious physical harm to the other including a fractured jaw and a dislocated elbow. The man who won is not breaking the law and in fact is given a trophy and money as a reward. This practice has been accepted as morally ok by our society.
Just a different veiw of the same information I guess.
