Bike Stolen

DJ if i even come to texas i intend to eat steak, drink beer, and ride motorcycles with you. just thought id let you know now.

Brief hijack to rant about the piece of crap kids bikes they make these days. My nine year old was riding bikes in the front street yesterday with a couple of friends. One of the boys left his very cool looking new bike in a bad place so I hopped on it and rode it to my driveway. I was appalled by how much it sucked.

I have a pension for old school BMX so my boy rides a '94 GT, He used to ride my '84 Mongoose Expert, 100% stock and in perfect condition, but I had to get him the GT because I was having a heart attack every time he rode it (“NOOOO DO NOT SET IT DOWN ON THOSE PEDALS, THOSE PEDALS CAN NOT BE REPLACED!!!” you get the idea). Anyway, so I get off that boys piece of crap and go over and check out my boys GT to make sure it’s not a piece of crap and sure enough its a quality bike. I then knew why my son was so much faster than his friends even though they are both more athletic. Kids bikes these days are 100% for show and zero percent quality.

Btw, I also have a '77 Mongoose Motomag I will one day restore and a '79 Cook Bros that I will one day build.

Dude, you locked the bike to itself? Seriously? How is that supposed to keep someone from tossing it in a van and driving away?

Maybe your bike was stolen because your avatar stinks. Did you expect the universe to just sit idly by and ignore it? I know you were going for that whole “thinker” theme, but dude it’s just not working. You like you’re trying to pinch a loaf on the toilet. Are you pondering why your bike was stolen?

So change it and maybe your bike will be recovered. Keep it and expect more bad things to happen to you. I’m serious, change it quick. You might hear a knock at your door and find a drunken Holy Mac coercing you into an MMF minus the F.

You are brilliant SS.

OP, sorry to hear it got stolen. It hurts, but you’ll know how to protect it next time.

Granted Op isn’t Zappa, but toilet pondering has probably birthed some great innovations, as well as shit.

In Amsterdam they spend more money on their locks then they do their bikes. Avoid Kryptonite Locks.

OP, did you look in the basement at the Alamo?
